I'm trying to understand how to use the numbers to determine the soil PH. Do you go by what the runoff is or the difference between the ph of the water going in and the runoff coming out. The numbers above were just an example. I have a seedling that's about a week old. I watered last night...

After reading through numerous threads here I'm still confused about finding the ph of my soil. For instance, if my water is 7.0 and the runoff is 5.0, does that mean the soil is 6.0? Or is it closer to 5.0? Thanks in advance.
