question...i have a 175w wall mount mh light fixture with ballast and cap in 1 unit but its not wired up.its a multi tap ballast was wired for 277 when i got it.. I switched it to 120v and connected my common n ground to a 16gauge cord.i plugged my 175w bulb n connected to power but nothing...

Heres my question guys sorry if its been asked...i did some lookin around in this and other forums but could N0t find a real answer..I have a 1000W mh/hps electronic ballast. CAN I SAFELY RUN A 175W BULB WITH IT??? or will that blow the bulb.i only have two clones growing under sum6500k...
