i've beeb pruning off the lower leaves as i've noticed them dying. What's causing the curling and browning tips, could that be the lighting?

I just started the flowering stage of my plant a few days ago. I know the nodes are really spread out, what caused that? I havent had a problem before so I havent posted anything, but in the last week or so i've noticed the lower leaves falling off and a lot of the lower leave shave brown tips...
