Ok, thanks. Most of the pics I've seen look like the lights are at least 2 or 3 feet away. I guess I just assumed that you couldn't get them much closer.

Thanks, but I don't understand how you can have better penetration with a lesser amount of lumens reaching the plant.?

I've read that plants get more lumens from 600 watts at 18" away than they do from a 1000 watts at 24" away. Even if it's the same what is the purpose of going to a 1000 watt bulb when you can simply move the 600 watt bulb closer? Other than a larger footprint, can someone please explain to me...
