To effectivly use co2 I believe you need a fully controlled and sealed room with AC (no in or out vents). It could work in a tent but odor and C02 would escape.

The only really cheap way to dry without much smell is to first water cure the bud then dry. The finished bud will smoke smoother and be more potent. The downside is lower bag appeal and the finished bud wont smell as strong.
