Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Is this a "bud worm"? What kind of bug is this? I keep finding them on my plant... I have already applied Neem Oil Solution + Safe Bug Soap + Tanglefoot... and I am still finding these things! This one is from this morning and I sprayed Bug Soap last night, so I guess they are not impacted...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

Not a bad idea, but at this point there has been too much damage done. Given the size of the plant relative to the damage a plant sealer would be like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound... Thanks though.

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

Initially I didn't think so, but apparently it is termites. Good call.

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

Here is my conclusion based on some research and posts by other gardeners... The first damage that happened was caused by termites. Termites don't usually eat live plants, but they can apparently cause and/or hasten the demise of a plant by going after the larger roots. As they eat they kill...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

I went out and looked at the plant a couple hours after I had wrapped the base of the stalk in plastic. This was actually after someone suggested that the ants were eating aphids off the stalk... I did not see any aphids. BUT there was a lot more damage to the stalk and I could see where the...

Can you clone a flowering plant?

I have a mature female plant. She is about 6 foot tall with a 3 inch diameter trunk. Some kind of pest has damaged the stalk of the plant and the whole thing is now dying. This happened very quickly I was not able to intervene and there is nothing I can do to save the plant as a whole...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

The ants are extremely small, even for ants. About 1/2 the size of a "normal" ant. About the length of a hemp seed. Dark brown/black. I have not been able to ID them further. They are burrowing into the main stalk and this is killing the plant very quickly. If you experience a rapid wilting of...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

I don't think they are termites. As I understand it termites will only eat dead wood. This plant was healthy up until the damage happened. I cannot tell if they are feeding on the plant or burrowing into it for some other reason such as nesting. I don't know if the root system has been damaged...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

I wish I had too... but I didn't realize what was happening, nor how quickly the damage could be done. :( I had a very GOOD grow last year and I guess I took it for granted that I would repeat without incident. Always more to learn and hope for better success in the future. Sadly I am going to...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

It is certainly frustrating... especially since this is my 2nd one to go downhill and was my last best hope of getting a decent harvest. As to the culprit being ants... I'm not 100% sure, but all evidence points to it. Perhaps they are burrowing into the stalk for food, maybe even to nest since...

Ant Damage - burrowing into stalk

I've already lost one large plant because of this and I'm just now figuring out why and it may already be too late. I had 2 large females, the remaining one is about 6foot tall and the base of the stalk is about 3inches. I first noticed about a week ago that one of the plants had a very sudden...

Sex ID of seedling - pics

this plant is under a grow led light for about 16hrs/day, because i also have it growing with some clones left over from last year. i didn't intend to grow this seedling it just came up out of one of my clone pots, so i let it do its thing. it seems healthy, just wondered it it had a definitive...

Bud Rot Concerns - Expert advice needed

Thanks for the replies and information. I will look for the Serenade product for the next time around. Might as well wrap this grow up anyway since I can't seem to control the weather.

Bud Rot Concerns - Expert advice needed

Well it is raining again tonight so I'm thinking just keep harvesting the plant. Next time I will know to look out for this mildew/fungus whatever it is. ICK! I would still like to know how soon before harvest you could apply Neem Oil as I assume it lingers on the plant for some time.

Bud Rot Concerns - Expert advice needed

I have an outside plant that is getting what I believe is referred to as "bud rot." :cuss:It is a grayish mildew that grows where the buds are staying too wet. (Recent rain and generally humid conditions here) The plant is otherwise healthy and while I had planned to give it another week of...

Clone Questions - revert to veg state?

I'm very new at this. Grew 2 adult females in my yard and have 3 clones off of them. The adults had already started to flower, so the clones have followed suit (to a lesser degree). I can't keep the clones outside until maturity because of the change of season, so I plan to finish the grow...

Outdoor Grow - getting enough sun?

2 images of adult plant, getting mostly filtered sunlight throughout day. 1 images of clones(3). I move the clones around to make sure they get the most sun.

Outdoor Grow - getting enough sun?

I live in southern AL, have 2 plants in the ground, both are budding up at a slow pace. Because of where I planted and the length of time it is taking the plants to mature, I'm losing a lot of sun - mostly because of shadows cast by large trees in the yard. When I planted they were getting full...
