it is a hydro setup with a rockwool cube in hydroton with a drip that acutally i noticed to pouring over the trunk of the plant...so overwatering?

to be honest you should just set a grow room up bc i dont think that they will grow good outside...especially if its a little cold.. thats just my opinion

yeah they do make the holes really deep in the cubes for seeds but dont push them down that deep. i pushed one down to the bottom and didnt see it for a week, then it finally came out of the cube but still keep them in the middle/towards the top and keep em covered and moist even tho its too...
