Is this place all tents and Box's?

When I grew large, I told nobody. You'll find that seems to be the case quite often. That said, there are a number of highly skilled growers on the site; cabinet/tent/PC grower or not. I've lurked here for over a year, and just finally made an account. Here's something that you might learn...

Best reflective material what is it?

Orca grow film looks neat, but so far the only review I've found sounds very "shillish". I'm going to stick with Panda being my first choice for now, but keeping a close eye on how Orca's reviews and use develops... Nice catch skunk!

Best reflective material what is it?

Emergency blankets will only provide marginal gains over foil (~70% reflectivity) and has the ability to produce hotspots.

Best reflective material what is it?

Reflectivity by greatest to lowest: Mylar - 95-97% Foylon - ~95% Panda Poly - 75%-90% Flat White paint - 75%-85% Aluminum Foil - ~55% Basically, anything you've mentioned would be an improvement. I would suggest poly, since it has the lowest chance for creating hotspots (aka none) of...

ideas for a screen to keep bugs out

3M also makes a line of air filters (Filtrete, http://www.filtrete.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/FiltreteNA/Filtrete/Products/?N=7568680+4315+3294529207&rt=r3) that does wonders at the 0.0-0.3 nanometer range when you get above 1900 micro particle rating. The 2400 micro particle rating will even block...

    Going nuts with ventilation calculations!!

Learned this from some other RIU members: ((Space size x 3) / 8 ) x 10) = minimum cfm this accounts for filters killing 2/3 flow, and 80% efficiency of your fan hardware at optimum air pressures i then double this number, personally, and dial back with a fan controller now to improve noise...

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

Here's the math I'm using to find my necessary fan size: 39" x 23" x 92" (in reality, its a bit less due to some airspace being consumed by equipment. Some of that equipment gives off heat, so I'll ignore its space use and overcompensate) Size in cubic feet - W x D x H: 3.25' x 1.92' x 7.67' =...

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

I updated the original post with a parts list (not counting consumables for the build) and recalculated: $879.00 USD. I'm wondering if this should be moved to the stealth grow forum, since it technically isn't a "grow room", but rather a grow cabinet. Lack of foresight/attention on my part.

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

My cabinet alone (brand new) is $219, so I don't doubt this one bit... Even with an inexpensive grow tent. I think it may be time I added my parts list, so that everyone can understand where that money is going. I'll have to recalculate, since I think I may have broken the $800 mark with a few...

    Cheap and easy light trap!

It really all depends on your choice of containers and how you cut your vents. You could use a drill and make lots of holes, but that would impede airflow more than this method. Like I mentioned in the tip, you can definitely scale this all the way up to garbage cans if you're really in need...

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

I agree. One thing to remember, if anyone thinks I'm paying too much: I'm not going for a grow tent, I'm going for a cabinet grow with features and functionality that are roughly one par with the Supercloset Deluxe 3.0. Those cabinets are easily $2500USD not including shipping and options...

New grower - help with cabinet setup

Not sure I'd try two ScrOG plants in such a small space. Hell, I've been getting feedback that 23"x39" in my grow box will be too small for two plants in ScrOG...

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

Care to share your setup? I'm always looking for ways to improve my design or reduce my costs. I'm impressed that you managed to keep the price so low, considering that the lights and fan rig I'm looking at (400w mh/HPS, and 447cfm fan with carbon filter) run about that. I'd be super...

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

I wasn't aware of how much the filter would drag down air exchange, great tip! The three stage I'm referring to is a mesh grill, a carbon filter, then .3 nanometer screen on the intakes. back to the drawing board for my air system it seems! Based on what you're saying, I'm definitely not...

Light shining from exhaust window any solutions?

I posted one earlier. Try it out. Shouldn't cost more than a few bucks and about 20-30 minutes time. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/695802-cheap-easy-light-trap.html

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

That's quite true... Based on some guesstimates, I'm thinking that the filtering setup (3 stage) on the external intakes will reduce airflow efficiency by 50% (if not more, which is another concern altogether) and give me an equivalent 4" 'worth' of intake. I think part of the benefit in this...

    Looking for opinions/tips on setup!

Hey GoLdD - thanks again for the reply. I've been concerned about the airflow rate, based on all the filters I'll have in place. Based on some quick calculations, it looks like I could pull 3 air exchanges per minute with the vortex (found it on amazon) at ~75% efficiency. I've always tried...

Updated with some (slightly) better pictures. Will try to put a picture tutorial up when I get a chance.

Yeah, it's basically a fingerpainting. (Isnt most "art" from a tablet? Lol) I'll update it with better pics whenever my computer (along with my other belongings) gets delivered to my new house...
