No. That'd be impossible. A 1000 watt HID ballast at 120V only uses 9amps, half that at 240V

well..I am definitely going to buy the 500 watt model.. multiple units eventually. so the specs and canopy distance, footprint,etc of the lower power models like the 200 watt model, does me no good..you're confusing me by bringing those numbers up. I am only concerned with the big one.the 500.

Are you both saying that at 16" the 500 watt model won't cover 48" x 44" like the manufacturer states? They have been pretty honest about everything else.. I figured the footprint would also be correct in those specifications.
