I guess I can start over. I don't have any more seeds but I can order more... I'll do some research on soilless mixes. I was under the impression soilless mixes are really easy to mess up, and I already mess up with soil, which was supposed to be pretty difficult to mess up.

I think I'll do that, I'm gonna need some serious help building this skill.

I didn't water it today and the plants turned brown and started to shrivel up. I'm growing in Fox Farms Happy Frog soil, I calibrated my PH meter and it's 7.8. Now I'm getting worried they're close to death.

Okay, I'll attach a couple fuses to the system too, sounds like a good idea. Not too worried about the supply cuz I gutted it from a goodwill pc, but a house fire is a good thing to avoid. Glad there's an electrical guru on here to correct my mistake.

After finished testing, yes, I do indeed have a DC relay rated for upwards of 40A handling a 15A 110v load, and there's no heat concerns. The AC, the socket, and the relay's power supply have protection circuitry, and it seems to handle it just fine. But yes, not exactly "safe", I know. Dunno...

Maybe next time I grow, if I grow again. But for now I'll use this system.

Update: I bought a cheap manual thermostat to gut. Basic manual honeywell piece, ~$20 at home depot. Also a relay from a car, 5 prong with on and off options (I used a black nissan relay) Only need one piece, the piece with the thermostat, not its control board. Hook power 12v+ to the center...

I have it set to 18/6 and lights on during the day to keep my electric bill unsuspicious. Adding 100, maybe 200 watts to my daily lights won't draw any attention from the landlord, who monitors my electrical usage and lets me know when I'm having a power issue (like when I was running 3 heaters)...

Another three hours, watching humidity levels, they sit around 30% +/- 5% so I think I'll be fine as it is. Keeping a log of values over the next week while waiting for seeds. :3

Update: The box has been run lights on with no plants for 6 hours since my last adjustment, and it sits at 84 degrees +/- 5 degrees. Keeping heat down seems to be managed with this arrangement. Tonight I'm going to find the best configuration to maintain a 10 degree nighttime drop. I usually...

You mean like this? Temps steady at 86 degrees, and I'd rather not get a centrifugal blower if I can avoid it. Also I flipped my fans to make the bottom the intake per suggestion.

Update: playing around with location in the house to try to stabilize internal temp. I'm getting pretty wild swings from about 71 to 95 degress, yesterday internal temp was 108 when it maxed out, so I moved it next to the AC and started adjusting the thermostat on the AC to help stabilize. 24...
