I have tried unscrewing the top and bottom screws in the picture but it just takes the whole unit off.

Hey guys, Just wondering when the best time would be to start topping my plants. Im onto the second nodes on a few of my plants at week 3 of growth. Ive heard that you should start early, but how early? Any advice would be great.

Any advice??? Their about 2 weeks old. Im watering only when its dry about an inch down, the water has a ph of 7. Please help.
