    Nope, had zero pest problems this season, which is really surprising because I had russet mites and spider mites the year prior. There's always going to be a battle of good and bad bugs I guess. And as for rotting roots I couldn't tell you, but my plants thought they were delicious apparently..

    That should work beautifully. I didn't even grab any roots last season, just let it naturally "cook" through spring and was fine.
