0-24 Lighting before flowering?

I have been hearing it will benefit me to do 24 hours of darkness the day before I start flowering. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions on this?

I don't do this myself, but I hear it can kickstart flowering and shave a possible few days off flowering time. The downside is that you stress the plant, and therefore increase the risk of hermies.

Yeah that was the only concern that I had. Thanks bro I think I'll just hit the 12-12 right off the bat and maybe end on a 24 hour darkness.

ya i hear that if you end with 24 hours of darkness then the plant goes into panic mode and produces more THC..is that true?(also the nail theory "if you drive a nail into the stalk of the plant a day or so before harvest it will produce more THC") has anyone tryed either of these?

i do anywhere from 24hr to 36hr and had no hermes. this is my 4th now. i manly do it to get my lights on time at 6 am.

I concur with Nocturn3, you take way too much of a chance of sending her into herman town for a small possibility of a faster start into flower from stress. Read your FAQ's to see about lighting and how to increase yield by changing to a 21 hour 36 minute light period and 12 hours of darkness (under advanced techniques for experienced growers). There are many other things to do that won't stress her out & turn her Hermi.

and 24 hr of darm won't do it either. sorry
