I am new to growing but plan on begining very shortly and I figure if im goning to do it I will do it big. I was wondering what kind of space and how many 1,000 W HPS will i need to pull 10 pounds a month. Also if you could give me a rough estimate of the total cost for a set up like this that would be greatly apperciated.

U need 1 1000w hps and 63 cfls, some pots, bunch of dirt outa the back yard, 2 computer fans, and buncha vodka

Don't use water. Only water with cheap vodka and u will get double the weight. So maybe ull even get 20 lbs a month.

Total cost around 675 dollars.

I'm in the same boat here. My space is about 14x30. Trying to put 15-20 plants into flowering every 4 weeks with around 9 or 10 1000 watt'ers will hopefully hit 10 lbs per month. Doing it all legally, too - so not worried about anything but not killing my plants! So scared to hurt them

We average about 10-15 lbs every 2 - 2.5 months in a 20 x 40 area with 8000w hps. (Not all space is used, about 2/3s) at our collective grow. sour diesel yeild almost 2 lbs per 1k watts.

Pulling a pound per light every month is doable but not easy. Your gonna have to get your set up dialed in first. Defietly wouldn't start that big if u haven't grown before unless u have someone experienced to help u the whole way thru. Unless u wanna waste a lot of money.

You are talking one hell of an operation. 8 4'x8' flowering tables in one or more rooms with 3 1K lights per table, a big veg area with lots of plants vegging and at least 16 400w lights, and a big assed clone area with a shitload of clones and several T5 fixtures. Everything on a continuous cycle clone, veg, flower. I very seriously doubt you can do all that by yourself. The easiest way would be soil, then you need a cement mixer for mixing soils, reservoirs for water, and thats not even considering nutes!!!
Thats a pretty tall order for a newbie!! This aint rocket science, but it aint baking a cake either.

well under 1000 watters my guess would be 8 plants per pound

so thats 80 plants finishing every month

and to keep it prepetual you would have to have like 160 plants always in flower

and like 320 total plants in veg and flower cycles

yeah not gonna happen

Good luck with that. If I were you, I would also buy some soap-on-the-rope, so you wont have to bend over too much in the shower when you get busted.

Again, thanks for the post and the laughter it caused.

youre gonna have to do it as big or bigger than this guy. Honestly, you need probably 30-50k, depending on what you have to work with and where and all that. You are talking about an extreme operation that would take a few full time gardeners to operate. Good luck man.
cg a pro and 100% legal with lawyers on stand by.

Also this is the deal breaker right here! You need to find somewhere legal to off all your product
And your product has to be grade A+ cause you aint the only dude on your block
