Just got a kick ass ballast that runs 120v or 240 v,MH and HPS.I am not set up for 240v but is this 1000w bulb gonna bring the "heat"???I know it has to spike my bill but is it enough for someone to notice?I'm seeing it as 10x 100w lights going for 12 hours...thats a big jump from conventional use. Also if I ran my dark time through the day with the garden lights on at night, would this even anything out as I wouldn't be using any other power through the night??

They are in the business to sell power. They like folks like us.

Learn to conserve power in other places in the house. Take bulbs out of multi-bulb fixtures. Use 40 and 60 watt bulbs. Be diligent around the house to make up for some of the extra watts used. LIGHTS OFF. You'll be surprised on how much you can safe if you make it a priority.
