1000w hps vs. 1000w CFL in flowering

how would 4 250 watt cfl's compare to using 1 1000 watt HPS in a flowering room?

Watt for watt, there is no comparison; the HID lights give plants more usable light than the CFL's. CFL's put off "dirty energy" too; you can Google that if you want; there is plenty of info out there.

If you were meaning 1000watt HPS or 1000Watt CFLs

I would go with 1000 Watt HPS anyday of the week.. The only thing better with the CFLs is electricity cost

yes the hid has better light penetration but then seen his confusing post?
a 1000 w of hid will blow doors on 1000 cfls

I fixed it for him; hope he's cool with that.

The HID would outperform. At least it did for me.

700-800w of CFL:

600w HID:

600w HID out yielded the 700+w CFL by a bit and the HID bud was a bit denser. SCROG isn't my preferred method of CFL growing though.
