1000watt first time grow need some advice

Hello I'm pretty new to this forum. Let me get down to whats join on. I have a 1000w MH light in my 5by6.5 room
I have 17 plants in 2 .5gal pots I'm using fox farm grow big in 50/50 mix of happy frog and black gold soil . yes i know thats way to many for the light. I just want to know what i can do to help boost there growth a little before flower, i plan to change the lights in about a week. I also need a good flower nute

changes the light ? to HPS I hope ?

hope you have a good big ventilation for that 1000W light ..
actually hope you also got a cool tube/hood ? can get the light much closer with one .. and have way less problems with high temps in general ..


about flowering nuts ... just use one that is made for soil/terra and is made for flowering .. high in P. and K.
I use some Bat guano powder (NPK: 2-15-2%) might also want to look in to Black strap molasses ..

and 17 plants is ok .. if you plan on keeping them in them pots and flower em early .. maybe do a SoG/scorg of some kind ..

either keep em small .. don't mess with em .. just let em grow up as fast as possible .. don't LST or top .. just switch to 12/12 early on so you end up with a sea of green .. with many small plants covering the hole space with all the top buds up near the light ..

or do a Scorg and use a net .. agin let em grow up a bit .. then use a net to "LST" em and fill out all the space .. agin .. the goal is to fill out all the space and keep all the buds at the top .. near the light ..

as that is the biggest "problem" with indoor growing .. penetration .. even big HPS light don't have the same as the Sun ..

so trick is to keep all them nice bud sites up close ..with in 1-2 feet of the light .. so they can grow in to some nice dense and hard buds of high quality ..

how far along are you? 17 plants for your first time? i'm gonna keep my eye on this thread gl. that MH should be more than adequate for veg / I've only ever done hydro so unfortunately I won't be of any help on the soil

Sorry for being so vague it's late I'm lazy etc. yes I'm using hps for flower I'm around Day 37 on most of the plants I started with 11 mystery seeds and 8 clones the clones are like 3 and a half weeks or something but there all the same height. I'm going to buy a bigger hood this "massive" hood from my local shop. I've heard good things about ncs17 or something ? And as far as netting and such I wouldn't have a clue how ....pics soon to come

Also, when do I give them bloom and do I give them grow the first week? Lastly is it a problem that I'm not going I transplant them out of there current pots
