Hey ya'll.. I've recently decided to grow in one of my empty rooms.. it is a 10x10x8. What I've decided is to do ebb and flow on a 4x8 tray, two 1000w 8" raptors over 28 plants (scrog).. Just looking for any advice, tips or any other method that can make the most out of the space and equipment.

READ up on growing - house plants first!
Get one....If you can grow an African Violet and it blooms.....Time to start with Cannabis.

You don't SCROG 28 plants in a 4x8 tray. Kinda low #'s for a SOG too.....
That alone says you need to learn about what your doing first!

I actually have many years of experience in the agriculture business growing almond trees on my families property. If I can plant and grow a few acres of almond trees and have good production I'm sure I can take this on with some good advice and guidance. The 28 in the 4x8 scrog method was recommended to me by the person I got the reflectors from..not everybody has the same methods of growing..that's why I'm here looking for advice or any other method that can make the most out of the space and equipment..

Glad to see you here on RIU.
You have come to the right place to learn how to grow MARIJUANA IN AN INDOOR ENVOIRMENT, which means all you know about growing almond trees outdoors means dick. As far as some salesman recommending anything, usually they want to sell the item they recommend, and usually they cant grow a tomato (that's why they are salesmen)
The guy called Dr. Who, (check out his profile) who has actually been growing herb probably longer than you have been alive, who said that you probably don't know shit about growing pot is right, otherwise you wouldn't be here asking for knowledge.
I don't really mean to sound mean, but I haven't been laid yet today. Anyway Free range humanoid, (you should start a new profile, and change that dumb fucking name) one thing you should have learned by now seeing that you are experienced with growing (trees really don't count though seeing as they are trees, while marijuana is a PLANT) you should know that you don't plant 28 trees at once unless you know what the fuck you are doing. You start with a couple and once you figure out if the soil is good, and the lighting is good and you can handle the insect and diseases that might occur (probably will sooner or later) and getting the nutrient requirements figured out, THEN YOU PLANT MORE. You want to start your 1st run in hydro ( much less forgiven than soil), indoors, and you think you can grow 28 plants? YOU ARE FUNNY.
Really my friend, start MUCH smaller, like at the most 3 or 4 plants ( so you want to grow commercial? Hint #1 is you better have buyers lined up now, and not some assholes you met in a bar that can sell a pound a week) until you get it figured out. Check out Amazon for some good tables at a good price. It takes 3 MONTHS to grow a plant, at the very least, so you really don't want to waste the lot's of money it costs to set up a system ( lights, food, seeds, meters, and additives like Calmag ( I'll blow you if you know what that is, and it is very important in hydro grows to give you a hint) Anyway, my lover just walked in, so it's time to relieve some tension ( he really knows how to give a foot rub). Good luck, and expect some abuse (only the real assholes will do that, and they are everywhere anyway) but most are nice people here. Good luck growing, and PM me if you need some help. TC

Jim is correct!

But don't take what we say personally ok? You need to read up on Cannabis - lots and not just 1 book.....There are more myths about growing Cannabis then facts! Be careful, get the real idea's from more then just Greg or Jorge or Ed.....Take the time to set up your area PROPERLY! Trust me, you will save many headaches by doing it right the first time! I must say that Ebb is in my book....the right way to start in hydro....You'll learn quickly from that style.....bit more forgiving then others.....It's the Rockwool that's the hardest part to zero in, in that style. Simply follow the rules for rockwool and you'll like it quick enough....

Like Jim said....Take it slow.....do a smaller run and maybe increase to 50% of your goal to get better equated to a bigger plant count....When you feel you have the style and methods down = run full scale....adjust as needed......Trust us - adjustments you will make.....it's easier to loose a few then watch a full run die by a mistake..

Ebb and flo works fast and you want too use 6" rockwool cubes...and a 35 gallon res...you need a tds meter and ph meter(the combo blue lab is great)
get a 15 minute on/off timer.
flood the tray 3" deep ea. 4hrs
put a 6x6 net over the top of the 12" plants
GH works for me grow, bloom, micro and protek
