12.1 Anyone try the 12 hours light 5 hours off 1 hour on 5 hours off for veg

Ive tried looking for a thread but couldn't find one. If there is one Id like to see it!

I was wondering if anyone uses or has heard of the 12.1 Light cycle for veg. I know a couple people that swear by it and their product is unbelievable.

12 hours lights on, 5 hours off, 1 hour on, 5 hours off then repeat

My question have they recorded plusses and minus? If its so great then why doesn't everyone do it? Electricity and heat would be cut in half for veg time. I will post a picture in a bit of some of the finished product.

Nope sounds like a good way to induce hermies id just stick to 18/6 or my favorite 24/0. Cannabis is a c3 plant it only needs darkness for reprodruction except for autoflowering strains. 24/0 for vegging is optimum imo and i did a test once and the plants i grew 24/0 were much better than the ones i grew 18/6. I wouldnt screw with its photoperiod until flowering.

image.png This is some product from 12.1 There's a Facebook page with a few people that use it but I wanted to get more feedback. The only reason I'm thinkin about switching is because two good friends have been using it for a year. I'm curious more about yields and growth differences that someone has noticed a difference with the same strains.

I dunno man i wouldn't chance it myself thats one wacky photoperiod nowhere in the world gets that naturally. There are places that get 24/0 light and dark near the poles but 12.1 is some unnatural stuff.

Its not at all. Mini split goes in on monday. I was just curious to hear from the people that have tried it themselves.

Thats what Im saying haha! It doesn't make much sense and I feel like the more light my babies are getting the more they're going to grow.

Cannabis needs light to use co2 and conduct photosynthesis because its a c3 plant. Some other non c3 plants need darkness to do this but not mary she only needs that to make babies. 24/0 gives better root mass, more knodes and faster vegging times.

i have never try it, but it sound like it will stress the plants. Imo

But whats the point? Heat reduction? Cannabis only needs the darkness to flower a poinsetta is a different plant altogether. Why stress it unneccessarily?

Some plants need dark cycles to function properly cannabis does not and having a vegging cycle so close to 12hrs sounds crazy thats basically a flowering cycle with interruptions.
