120 volt or 240 volt for 400 hps??

I am looking at grow lights. Many come "wired with" 120 volt, but you can upgrade to a 240 volt. My question is why the upgrade???

if you run 240 you can safetly pull more amps on one circuit, meaning you can plug more lamps into one plug...otherwise no difference.

If you are in the states, 120 will be more practical.

Thanks for the info Garden Knowm. ...After the pictures of your plants using the CFLs I might have to forget about all the HPS stuff with all the heat, and get one of the new 200 watt CFLs.
