Hey guys, I know there’s too many variables to get a scientific answer, but ballpark will work. So here goes: I’m going to end up with about 160 pounds of dried bud this harvest. Roughly how much trim can I expect, and with the trim, what kind of oil yield can I expect? Thanks in advance.

I would figure bare minimum 2-3 oz per lb. With a lot of larf and trim

I wish I had kept better records but that sounds very doable

Super confusing but im saying.
1 lb of dried bud could lead to enough
Larf and trim to make a good couple ozs

Hahaha. These guys are being too modest. Here is a real answer. If you were capable of successfully growing that much product, you would already be a successful commercial scale grower and would not be on rollitup asking silly questions like this. Please prove me wrong with a grow log. I envy guys who successfully grow on that scale. The trimming alone is a stupendous amount of work.

150 pounds. 160 was a typo. I’m an agronomist by trade. 150 1 lb plants is my goal. Plant nutrition isn’t going to be an issue. I have a doctorate in soil science. I’m reading a ton, and have partnered with an experienced cultivator, however he’s never done a grow close to this large. And Harry, trimming isn’t an issue with a Tumble Trimmer.

Lmao. I don't like ripping on new members because I love this forum and new member bring new life(and I hope you stay and contribute!), but dude......People like you with no experience and huge unrealistic expectations come on here and ask silly questions like these all the time. I don't care what your degree is in. This isn't going to happen. Realistically, you should start small, learn how to consistently produce a good product, make some connections, and go from there. By all means, prove me wrong and start a log. I'll cheer for you the whole way bud. BTW those machines do a shit job. You will need trimmers if you want a good quality product.

It can be easily done if you've got the place to do it, and some really, really good holes dug with some good soil. You need a large root system to get an 1bl per plant, and the right strain.
Main thing is you better have a large root ball, good soil, and the right strain(s) and get a good start.

Ive got a buddy that been growing outside, in an outlaw state for over 40 years, and he always gets at least 30lbs a year, but many plants are only 1/4lb, and he cant dig huge holes, nor use nice big starts.
Id use at least a 3 x 3 x 18 inches deep hole. And that's a lot of work if your digging 150 of them. Especially where I live with lots of rocks, and roots.

Realistically I don’t care if you think I can successfully grow 50, 150, or 1500 pounds. I will grow 150 pounds this year and log it every step of the way. I hope you enjoy crow for breakfast. How much experience do you personally have with commercial trimming machines?

Thanks for the reponse. Where I’ve built my greenhouses is on some of the highest producing dirt in the country, 18” of top soil.

As far as the holes go, I’ve got a post pole attachment on my bobcat. It does wonders.

By all means, I hope you pull it off. I'd love to it see it, and I don't mean that sarcastically.

As far as the trimmer, I've never used one, but I have seen them in action. A local shop near me rents them out since there's a lot of huge growers near me. I wont use one after seeing the amount of trichs and resin all the contact removes and the rough trim job they do. Most growers I have talked to have guys touch up after they come out. If someone comes up with a solution to this and makes it trim tighter without removing too much, I'll be on board. I hate trimming. It's by far my least favorite part about growing.

With 150 lbs of good bud i wouldnt give a shit about how much trim there will be.

Just for fun as i have no way to actually know but i get 5-7% of bud weight worth of trim. So lets say 5-10% of 150# so 7.5-15# of trim.
How much oil, well thats even more impossible cause that depends on plant quality and extraction method. You could probably get a good amount of hash off the trimmer blades.

I want see this grow log, with pics, i need the f#%*ing pics! Dont forget my pics.
What are you adding to the soil?
