150W HPS for four lowryders?

Hi! i've got four lowryders under a 58w fluorescent light and thinking about transferring to a 150W HPS and a couple of CFl's, how about that?

How powerful are the cfls?

And a 150w HPS for the general theory of 50w sq. ft. is probably pushing it. However if you are running the large 2700k cfl from a local hardware store then I would bet to say that is just fine.

Hey silas.seppo, I'm a newb too growing so I could be wrong, but from what I've read it's ideal to get around 100watt or 5000k lumens per plant.

one maybe two plants, tho with CLFs you might get away with it, at least it is much better then only CLFs ..

depends on grow area a 150w hps has a very low lpw ratio a 250w will make all the difference

If this is a 150w cfl then it probably have around a 650w 675w equivalent. Currently using two 125w cfl with two plants in veg under each and that works so fine so I'd say two girls under a 150w could work fine for yah!

I keep a small hobby garden, never growing more than 4 autos at a time (local laws). I used to use a 150w HPS, that won't cut the mustard for growing two autos to maximum yield. I'd suggest using a lot of CFL sides (1000bulbs.com has some great 105W compact CFLS that fit standard edison sockets), that or upgrading to a 400w hps. At one point I had 2 400w HPS and 4 105w CFLS running sides. Was pulling an avg of 2 oz per plant. Heat became a MAJOR issue, have since switched to approx 700w of LED. Bud quality improved, still pulling an avg about 2 zips per plant. Yes I spent close to $1,000 on lighting to upgrade to all LED, but the lights are under a 3 year warranty and are totally and completely bad ass. $1,000 is not a lot in retrospect when pulling a half pound out of my closet every 2 months or so.

IMO id say you are more then fine. I wouldn't go expecting lbs and lbs of medicine BUT an ounce, maybe if you do some LST you can maybe get more. You should get enough for you. I wouldn't go thinking you can supply anyone else with medicine. I'd love to know what you get out of it cause I use a 150hps and some floro's for veg. Works well as can be for me with veg so with some practice you can milk that 150 for all it's worth! Let us know what happens at weigh in. Technically speaking if you can get good enough and get 1/2 gram per what that's 75 grams. Just don't think you will have the perfect grow cause SHIT HAPPENS so be vigilant of them and attend to their needs and they will attend to yours!

I run a 250w hps in a 2x2 area and pull 6-7 zips from 1 or 2 plants (plant no.s varies upon vegging time) However, thats in hydro with scrog.
