well as the plant grows taller and the roots expand.. the plant is eventually going to get root bound... so what would be a aprox. height of the plant be in the 16oz cup be before it got root bound..

Well, depends on your level of experience and knowledge. I have seen pictures of monster plants (3+ feet) in plastic beer cups on this site. My personal best was a 16" Lowryder #2 that I grew in one. You have to pay very close attention to watering and nutrients.

1 foot sounds good i think, then let em get over transplant shock for atleast 2 weeks, by which time they could be pushing a foot and a half, and then youd be golden to start flowering

you are going to want to go a little bigger than those cups. after only a couple weeks of good growth youll need to water almost every day. Find yourself some square pots or tall skiny ones (2-litter bottles) and veg in those, your plant will be healthier. my favorite veg box was 11inchx12inchx30inches with 6 cfl spots on the top. in the beginning you need to use a stand. i had one of those universal locker shelfs and 2x4 blocks to sdjust the plants accordingly.

this is only a veg box until they get root bound... then i will be moving the plants outside into the ground.. (for next years grow)

i let my plant go 15-18 days and the roots were already at the bottom and coming back up the side of the cup.. it was pretty much perfect. idk if i could of went longer or not, but 15 days and the roots were pretty well established along the sides of the cups and everywhere.
