In nature plants never have 24 hours constant daylight. I've vegged under 24/0 and 18/6 and honestly did not see any major increase in growth or maturation.
I'm no expert, in fact, I'm just finishing up my first grow, but if I remember right from college biology plants need darkness. My understanding was that they absorb water and sunlight during the day and actually make food out of it at night. I did 18/6 during the growth stage.
Yea dude think how many hours a month you are saving compared to the lights always being on 24/7. You'd think the plants would love the extra hours but it doesn't make a difference to them. In my opinion they love the dark and drop in temps.
one of these days ill get after that 20/4 of blazes, would like to see a comparison with that schedule, since ive never tryed it, but truly i think it would be hard to notice the small differences in 3veg rooms under those different 3 lighting schedules..
