I had an aerogarden lying around, so I did some research, found this site, and have been reading for a few months. Didn't bother posting for now, cause i really don't have alot of room to grow (in the apt i am in now), and this was kinda more of an experiment to see if i could even do it, before i start putting money into a nice system.
i included a few pics so you can see what i did.
So, seeds were germinated on paper towels, and thrown into the aerogarden on 6/3/09. i have two left alive after getting rid of the ones that weren't growing well.
i used the AG nuets when i threw them in, and then once more two weeks later then i switched to some powdered nuets that you mix with a gallon of water i got off of ebay.
i used 30 - 10 - 10 during veg, and when i switched to flowering i started using 10 -30 -20 . this was as close with the numbers that i have seen in the growing guides that i have found that i could get on the cheap.
the seeds were nothing special, just various ones i have pulled out of different bags i have gotten over the years, so who knows what i am growing. it honestly doesn't matter right now cause again the was to see if i could do it and on the cheap.
the plants are about 12 inches tall now
i just started the 12/12 flowering on 7/25/09, so i'm 5 days into flowering.
when the plants got too tall for the areogarden arm, i cut the arm off with a dremmel, got some dowel and attached it to the back of the areogarden, then ducttaped the light to the dowel, and its working surprisingly well. i have two lights next to it, might add a third stronger, if i can figure out where to fit it in the box.
oh the box is lined with tin foil, shiny side out, and is a box from a giant air conditioner my neighbor gave me. the box is 30 inches tall, so the AG light is 4 inches and the base is 4 inches, so i have 22 inches grow room. it will just have to be enough for this experiment.
i think i have one male and one female, which i will just kill off the male if it is and just let the female go. when i'm done i'll start over with new seeds, i don't have enough room for cloning etc right now.
so, help me out, i think plant #1 is a male, and either plant #2 is a female, or i need another day or two to see.
sure hope its a she!
also, i did veg these 2 months from seed, 18/6 light cycle, do i need to veg them that long, or would a shorter period work?
pictures are as follows
1 - full setup
2 - just a comparison of size with my hand
3- overhead shot
4-8 plant #1
9 plant #2
EDIT: Oh, and THANK YOU for your time and help!
