Hello to all of RIU, I'm new here been lurking around for a couple of weeks already doing a bunch of research. I've been thinking about growing my own herb since a couple of years ago when I watched a Jorge Cervantes grow dvd. Also I'm really sick and tired of having to buy from flaky ass dealers and ever so often failing at getting a sack because multiple dealers ran out, or they cant be found, etc. I also love to smoke because it makes me feel so good and makes life more enjoyable at times. Unlike when I've tried using prescription drugs to alter my state of mind for the better, only to feel like it's eating away at my brain and I start acting way too crazy stupid because I would take too much of it or would drink alcohol and get it mixed up in my system. 
Anyways, so here is my plan... I am going to setup the grow in a closet which I would guess it is about 3.5' in depth x 8' Height x 12' wide.
A friend of mine let me have some equipment (I'm assuming he's going to want to smoke big when its harvest time lol). The equipment is the following:
Turbo Garden Ebb and Flow system, 25 gallon reservoir and can hold up to 14 of the plastic pots.
A 400 Watt Lamp with the Yo yo hangers, I can't tell if its a HPS, MH or if it can be converted to either one.
Bag of Hydroton
Ready Gro Super Sleeve. Still not sure how to use this or what it is really for.
Ducts
Dual Flange Kit. I'm assuming its for the attachment of the ducts?
I also have a couple of some Jiffy pellets to plant the seeds in, but I read somewhere that the pellets are not suitable to use with the Hydroton rocks?
Now here is a list of things that I know I am missing but will buy most of it tomorrow.
- Ballast for lamp (friend has it somewhere else and will give it to me in a couple of days)
- Pump and tubing for the reservoir
- PH Meter
- TDS Tester
- Nutes
- Timers
- Thermometer / Hygrometer
- Mylar sheets
- CFLs 42w 6500k (I will use several of these for Vegetation and then use the 400w lamp for in combination with several of the 2700k Cfls placed around the sides and bottom of the plants during the Flowering stage.)
So what I really want to know is there anything else I should be getting to start everything off right? I'm on a tight budget right now but I'll be getting more money as the weeks go by so I'm trying to keep all costs relatively low. I will also be ordering the seeds tomorrow but could definitely use some ideas of which ones to buy. Obviously I will order some Purple Haze lol and I got my eye on some Blueberry strains. But like I said I'm currently on a tight budget so I will only be ordering 1 seed of each strain and not the packs.
So which ones are good as far as quality of smoke, pricing, yields, and not too complicated to grow? I smoke alot and can burn through an ounce of some schwag in a day or two sometimes lol so would like to yield plenty. Also whats a good number of plants I'll be able to grow properly with this setup? I want to surround the plants with about 7-10 CFLs the whole time, then add on the 400w during flowering.
I really do appreciate any help you can offer me, I'm totally new to growing but have a good grasp of how things work and am very confident I can pull this off successfully. RIU will be my new home and this is only the beginning of many grows I hope to accomplish...

Oh by the way here's a pic of some shwag seeds I planted a week ago just to get warmed up and have them sitting under a 15 watt florescent tube fixture that's been sitting in the garage for well over 10 years LOL I can't believe they are growing under that little piece of shit!
