Congratulations! Nice looking plants. I would rethink the yarn thing.... That stuff is a bitch when that plant gets dry. The trich's get like the ruff side of Velcro and the yarn.... well, you get the picture.

I agree that it may have been a tad early on the harvest, but you will figure it out for yourself with future harvests. As a newb, it is very hard to resist when you see them getting frosty...you just want to cut them and get to smoking your homegrown bud! If you're choosing your harvest time just by the 7-9 week range that many strains list as flowering time, you should know that is based on ideal conditions and (particularly with a CFL grow) it will likely take longer. Your bud should be okay, but it might have been a bit better with a little more time - there can be a significant increase in bud swelling in the last two weeks that will greatly help your yield. If you don't have a scope yet, you can get a 30-40X jewellers loupe for about $5 on ebay. Mine even has LED lights that help to see the trichs better. Also, if you want to hang your buds to dry in a way that really makes it simple, look for vinyl coated spring clips. I found packs of a dozen colored clips hanging on displays along the aisle in the grocery store. I strung up a 'clothesline' where I just have to clip the buds by the stem - they're easy to check and then jar for curing whenever they feel dry enough, and the whole deal stores away for use the next time when drying is done. Yeah, I think another week or two would have been ok. I was looking at the trichomes, I was going for more of the milky white with some amber... head with a little body. If I take my pics and zoom in on them it shows the trichomes in pretty good detail.

I think I need to add lights? I now have two 'huts' if you will. One is 24 lights and the 2nd I am working my next round slowly down to 12/12. In my 24, I have 3 - 6500K (100w equiv) and 1 - 2700K (100w equiv). In my 12, I have 3-6500K and 3-2700K.

My current grow is 'Magic Crystal' - I put four in (the other two small 'girls' you seen in the above pic (kush) are staying with my new seedlings I just planted last night. The Magic Crystal are a fast growing, package states flowers in 56-70 Days - they are 47 days old and have been showing sex (f) on 3 of 4 since they were about 30 days old.. the other one isn't showing anything except cross hairs on SOME of the nodes, but they are green cross hairs and the others with mini flowers have very obvious red hairs... so I am sure when I get lights out closer to 12 I will know pretty quick.

I plan on full 12/12 by Monday or Tues... I did an hour for two nights, last night out for 3, tonight I am thinking 6 or 8 and again Monday, then 8A - 8P.

I am getting twine for my next hang. Now I am pondering this whole drying process. How long should I hang them? How long in a paper bag? Then a jar?

I have a few lil nugs that I left from crop night on a clean coffee filter, they are meant for small samples as they lightly dry up.
