1st grow advise needed!!

I have been lurking in the shadows of this site absorbing all of the information I would need to start a small closet grow (2.5' x 3.5'). I have 2 plants in a scrog.

I used 8 42w CFL's 6 - 6500k & 2 - 2700k for veg and 16 42w CFL's 12 - 2700k & 4 - 6500k for flowering.

Used FoxFarm soil and Nutes in cloth "Smart Bags"

I vegged them for 8 weeks and they have been in 12/12 for 2.5 weeks now.

My question is whether they are too bushy and if trimming/thinning some of the larger leaves allow more nutes & water to reach the main buds or will doing so cause harm to the plants. I'm trying to get the maximum yield in my little 7sqft grow area.

Any help/advise would be appreciated.

First off mate, well done on a nice looking grow so far, nice thick main stems and nice greenery and nice buds forming. like vostok above says don't pull off any leaves---the buds themselves don't really need light--its the leaves. It is quite probable that you will get some nice bud out of your grow, but not the same yield that you would get if you were using a sodium light, that's a fact. still you are a grower for sure and nice job so far. Being a nosy bugger I would like to know what strain you got there ? and would like to see how things turn out. well done and good luck.----let me guess ---northern lights ?

Is your nickname Nostradamus? They were both advertised as feminized Northern Lights seeds but they look so different, even down to the shape of the leaves, that I'm not sure. I was told that it was a good stain for a beginner.

northern lights are a great beginners strain and I have grown it with good success 4 times, I kind of recognised it lol. ( man that's impressive even though I say it myself ) Ive never grew the auto flowering strain though but they say as far as autos go Northern Lights is among the best.

Andy, you sure this is your first grow cause it looks like a seasoned veteran's! Great job and keep us in tune with the progress

Thanks for the kind words nflguy, It is my first try at this but I didn't just throw some seeds in the dirt and expect them to grow. I spent many, many hours researching the techniques and so far it has paid off for me. Now if I can just keep from killing them in the last month. Just a wild guess but are you from North Florida?

Negative on North Florida, Andy...Pennsylvania here and as CC says, it IS refreshing to see someone doing the research needed and actually seeing it pay off. Kudos Bro!

Looks like someone did their research before growing. Everything's looks surprising for a first timer.

thanks nflguy, I just know someone that has the same name as a screenname who lives in N.Florida, but come to think of it this isn't exactly the kind of site he would visit anyway, lol

I thought I would post a few more pics of my plants as this is their 4 week anniversary (of flowering). They are both supposed to be Northern Lights but they look totally different so I'm not sure. One of them has some unreal trichome development but the other one is lagging behind but still looking ok.
