Hi everyone!
Well finally i almost got everything that I order and I'm ready to begin my 1st grow
I usually like to write a lot of details, so I hope I don't get you bored by looking at my journal haha

Let me tell a little bit about my setup, right now I'm still waiting for some parts and doing some mods to my room before I got everything ready, but I hope it will be like this.

Setup-Equipment:
- veg room: 3x3 ft // 600w MH // normal hydro*
- flow room: 4x3 ft // 600w HPS // ebb&flow
- The HIDs are from HTGsup, both are 600w digital ballast, with EuroCool 8" reflectors
- I got hygrometer, PH and TDS meter

*by normal hydro I mean the system were you just water the plants and the remaining water goes to the reservoir (don't remember the name for this kind of setup so I just named normal hydro lol)

Nutrients:
- Adv Nutrients Sensi Grow A&B
- Adv Nutrients Sensi Bloom
- Adv Nutrients Sensi Big bud

Seeds:
- 10 Big Bud (from nirvana)
- 1 unknown

any comments or advices are welcome!!

Were you going to do a drip system style. I think you should have the excess water drain to waste. That is what I have heard at least. Get one of the timers that has frequency and duration so you can set it to water your plants perfectly. Normal timers stay on for a min to 15 at a time and this wastes too much water..

March 12:

I placed the 10 Big Bud seeds on a plastic container with a wet towel, and I placed them on the top of home theater amp (my home made heat mat haha ) and it worked really well

March 13:

the first one

March 14:
after 2 days 8 of the 10 seeds :hump:

March 15:

The 1st seed that cracked.

Those are 1.5x1.5" grodan rockwool cubes. they are just sit on a plastic container and I keep them moist with water and nutrients.

for now I'm using this solution:
- PH 5.6 aprox.
- 300/350ppm (my tap water is usually around 50ppm without nutrients, I'm trying to add 150ppm of each part of the sensi grow mix from advanced nutrients, part A and part B, to reach the 300/350ppm)

The light:
I have the lights on 18/6, they are on most of the time during the night (to try to keep the temp down, its really hot in here :-?, so they are on from 3pm to 9 am)

March 16:

I'm having some hard time to keep the temp normal, its getting really hot were I live and I'm still waiting for the fans that I order, In the mean time I just using some computer fans and a big fan for ventilate the room.

Temps are usually around 27C/80.6F with 50% humidity
the max temps that I had are:
-max: 29C/84F - 70%
-min: 22C/71.6F - 40%

March 17:

This are the pics from today (got some closeup pics) because I believe some leaves are a little yellow :-? (maybe It's just me lol) but let me know what u think

thanks! I hope to get a good grow. Bid bud is just some strain, that is suppose to be easy to grow (according to nirvana webpage haha)

seems like mine is a bit different (I use the water several times)
Its actually the same system that appears on the "I grow chronic" videos, for the veg room.

hey man you definetly DO NOT NEED a 600 watt light for only a 3x3 area. it generates too much heat and you would get the same results from a 400 watt, or even a 250 watt with veg room that small

I think if the drain goes to waste it is better because it one plant gets sick it will not make the rest sick. Also the solution is always the same instead of having less nutes because the plants eat it. I don't know it could just be what the guy at the hydro store told me so I would need more nutes to finish the grow. Just a thought, I'll stop babbling.:peace:

Do you think using a 600 watter would get him more bud though? I have heard of a lot of people using a kilowatt for a 4x4. I use a 600. He also has an a/c, with a good fan you can keep the light way cool. I could put my 600 watt like 4 inches from the plant top with no problem (please be safe and check temps, don't put yours 4 in away and blame be on killing your plants). I would also think a 250 would be under doing it. I was always under the impresion that more light was more buds as long as it is not too much..

I went for the 600w hoping to grow on a bigger room on the future
but for now its just extra light haha, but its ok I manage to get my temps around 25-27C / 77-80F

now I'm just a little bit worry about looking my plants getting a little bit to long and stretchy :-?
I will upload some pics in a moment...

March 18 - Day 3:
(day 3 since they got out of the rockwool cubes)

I'm kind of worry to see that all my plant are really stretchy I think.. :-?
but take a look and let me know what you think

the taller ones are about 2 inches now
light is about 20" from the top of the plants
temps > usually around
25-27C / 77-80F

wat kind of venting do you have
right now just a big fan to circulate air in the room and some computer fans for the light and another small one for the plants, but this is temporary, when I get the fans that I order everything would be in a kind of big closet setup

March 19 - Day 4:

Finally they stop stretching :D
they are about 2" tall, and the leaves are getting bigger.

Temps are as usual around 25-27C / 77-80F
PH: 5.6 aprox
ppm: 300-350 (using the advNut sensi A&B)

now the roots are coming out on the lower side of the cubes, but I'm still waiting for my bigger rockwool cubes and some other parts to finish the hydro system

the one on the upper corner its a shame lol
