Plenty of Pictures. Help
This is my first post and my first grow. I have some nugglets in a small space indoors. I used miracle grow and about 300 watts worth of cfls blue and red spectrum. They produce little heat so I put them inches away from the plants. The light lamps are placed at different angles, but the strongest are up top, about 10 inches away from tops. Does this affect growth in a bad way?
They vegged for 2 months surviving the problems I put in their way to make them better. These include putting a hot flood lamp close to them for even a couple minutes, killing my strongest plants over a matter of a couple of days. I at least gained the advantage of observing the damage of heat stress though. I also started out not testing PH, but I used tap water and distilled water most of the time(other times I used MG nutes).
Now more recently the smaller ones took over the big ones and I have seen my leaves, older and younger, start twisting, folding downwards, drying up, and turning yellow/brownish starting from the egdes of the leaves. I would have thought this was heat stress, but the temps are about 74F at the most. It has also expanded where light is less concentrated. So maybe over fert? I use MG rose food 24-12-10 weird but I rarely use it. I've used it maybe 3 times this entire grow. At first I was dumb and used twice the strength on the sweet little innocent babies, but no immediate damage was done. That was the biggest mistake I made. Next watering, they absorbed the nutes and growth was stunted and fan leaves yellowed from the edges. Then I ended up with 4 healthy plants that were sent from God.
I flushed them with my tap water which turned out to be slightly basic (7.5-8.0) after I tested it last week. What visible affects would this have on my plants?
Also- what could possibly be the yellowing, folding, and twisting that is going on other than over-fert?
Will my plants have healthy new foliage grow during flowering?
Keep in mind this is my first grow and first post, any criticism welcomed
Materials:
4x 6" pots(too small?)
Miracle grow soil
1x 65 watt CFL blue
2x T5 cfls, one full spectrum and the other blue
7x 23 watt cfls warm and cool
MG rose food 24-12-10
A 2' fan only active when lights are on(how hard should it be blowing?)
3x pot trays to allow drainage
1x set of balls
all of this happening within about 2 square feet
where I am from this is quite illegal, so I base my operation on stealth and height is an issue. How may I mask the smell other than my 2 cats defecating everywhere?
