1st grow ever, going to need some help.

Been researching for months now and I'm finally going to start my grow. I'm using CFLs for now until I learn to control temps with the 400w in my closet.. Gonna run 3 plants under that starting in a 18/6 light cycle. My space is about 4'x2 1/2'x6' tall.

The seeds are Barney's Farm 8 Ball kush, a Reserve Sour Kush, and a Lemon Kush.
I will have pictures up later :/ sorry.

All for personal consumption ;]:leaf::weed::bigjoint:
Any feedback/criticism would be appreciated!

I think we all started this way. Im sure that you have read by now but make sure that you have a good PH reader. I dont know what type of soil you are using but make sure that you reasearch the hell out of it. And last but not least...LEARN TO READ YOUR PLANTS...the best way to make sure that they are getting the proper care is to KNOW them.

Oh one more thing.....if your unsure of something, ask! There are plenty of know it-alls in this forum to bounce ideas off of. Good Luck man, we all start somewhere :)

thanks!
yeah im using miracle-grow potting soil that has enough food to where Im not going to use nutes till flower.

a few critiques i would have. Put some reflectors on the lights to direct all of the light downward. remove the carpet, or at least cover it up...spills happen and you don't really want that shit on your carpet. Also you may think about some fans in the room just to give some airflow. even if the temps are low i like the stressing that comes with a little bit of wind.

also, when it comes to flowering, i don't think that those CFL's will have the power that will produce buds that you'll find pleasing....but this one is just my opinion

At first I glanced at your avatar and thought it was young Will Smith aha!

But if your temp. is already 82, you may have some trouble with a bigger light.

yeah I have a fan running in there now, just a medium sized oscillating fan. and I made a DIY reflector over the one set of lights but today Im doing the other one. I would love to have big juicy buds, just dont want to kill them so I'd rather get some than nothing :/

pH meters for soil are a waste of time and money. Good ones cost REAL money.

Next grow skip Miracle Gro. Try Fox Farms products. Much better.

thanks, yeah I looked into it but a lot of people said the grow soil with nutrients in it was good as well. Just a place to start.
so excited:]]

The babies are doing great!

But this is starting to happen on the sour kush and a little on the others.
When I was trying to figure out what the cause was I was getting a lot of different answers, so Im coming here for help.
What is causing this yellow spotting? over watering?

if your using miracle grow it can be nute burn. many people avoid miracle grow because its hard for the grower to control nutrient release.
