This is my very first grow and Im not only super excited but I must say I am a little bit scared. I have heard so many stories of failing crops, especially for first time growers, so I guess im just a little nervous because I want to invest in this project a little and try to actually yield something descent. But at the end of the day I just want to have fun doing something that I have always wanted to do . So my closet is not very big, but by no means is small. After lots of research I have gotten my grow room half set up and I currently have 3 babies under the lights. So I dont want to be too wordy so I'll just give a run down of my approach:
Size of room: 4ft x 5ft x 1.75 ft
Lights: 8 26 watt CFLs (all 6500k) for Vegging, 400 watt HPS for flowering + Mylar
Strain: Purple Kush x Sour Diesel
Medium: Fox farms ocean mix,
Nutes: Botanicare Veg + Bloom
Game Plan:
My plan as of now is vegging 3 clones in 5.5" square pots in FF under the 8 CFLS, which are all sitting 1-3" from the plants. Obviously the lights are burning for 24hrs and I dont really have a set plan on how long I will Veg for. When roots start to show out of bottom of container, I will transfer only once to 3 gallon pots of FF. After I transfer I will put my screen up and begin LST the plants under the screen. When my screen is about 50% full I will switch to 12/12 and put up my 400Watt HPS, and I think I will keep up 8 CFL's while flowering also (but I will change to 2700K bulbs for flowering). In terms of feeding I watered the plants last night when they entered the soil for the first time. Due to such mixed opinions I decided to give the babies a very small amount of nutes in their water. I added 1/2 strength dose for seedling stage, and used just about a whole gallon to water them. As of today it looks like the nutes didn't really hurt them, they are nice and green, however some of the smaller leaves are a little bit droopy, which in my guess so far is because of a little too much water or just transplant shock? So for now its going to be pretty boring, just managing the little ones and waiting for some serious growth to start. Like I said I am SOO excited to be growing and I am really going to do my best to baby the shit out of these plants and my goal is to just make a harvest for my 1st grow.
*** As I said this is my first grow, and I wouldnt know a damn thing right now had it not been for the good feedback and advice all of the members of this site provide. That being said I still don't know shit and I am going to need your guys help so please give me all the pointers you can come up with, If Im totally doing something wrong then please dont hesitate to tell me.
I am going to post some pictures of my set up and most importantly my plants. Please check out the plants and tell me if you think they look ok, cuz as I said some leaves look a little droopy and I dont know why. Thanks for stoppin by and helpin out!
