my Pigmy gold seed sprouted and i have it in a paper cup with plastic creating humidity and that cup on top of a heating device.....

The plant leave came out this morning but its sorta pale with some brown? is the heating device too hot?
now that its sprouted should i move it to some cfl'? or wait for the plant to get green on the leaf?:?:
Also planted a power skunk but its still dormant:wall:

the heating device may be drying out your soil too much. My first plant ever sprouted pale and brown and it was because it had no water.

you dont need a heating pad really thats more for germination. after its sprouted all you gotta do is get a light pretty close to it and watch it grow, water when needed.

im pretty sure you can stick rockwool into soil....dont quote me on that wait for someone else to chime in for that but usually people give their seedlings clfs or flouros for the first couple weeks then move to an HID. Your plant probably wont die if you go straight to an HID but theres always a chance you might stress it out

hmm .....
i put took off the humidity plastic and put the 75w light bulb on it (maybe too close) and now the leaves went from green to brown again, this baby is changing from pale/brown/green/brown....

maybe light is getting to the root and not liking it??
maybe as soon as the seed sprouts your not supposed to put light right away?

I don't think that seedling is going to make it. You had it all wrong. That humidity plastic is never ever needed for a seedling. Light getting to the roots would not be a problem, it doesn't even have roots that go to the edge of the container yet and even if it did that won't actually hurt the plant that is a myth see here:

Anyway the seekling needs useable strong light but not cooking it strong. If you want to have any chance of saving it you need a fan on that thing and you need to cut the rim off that cup that would block the fan from making it dance a little.

Make that baby move and give it good light but not too much and fresh air and it MIGHT survive. But I would start more seeds if I were you.

Take off the plastic and put a light on it. 1 cfl 6 inches away or hid a couple feet away. Looks to me your seedling is not getting enough light or air to produce the chlorophyll that makes it green.

Yes rockwool in soil NP.

You dont need a fan when they are that small. Keeping the medium at 80 Degrees and the ambient temp at 75 degrees is whats recommended until they are rooted then keep root zone at 70 degrees and ambient temp at 85.

So if your going to use a fan use it to cool the area. do not point it at the seedling you will kill it.

Where did you get this idea that the fan would kill it? It's not a clone. Seeds germinate in the wild with sunlight and wind my friend. Your information is flawed.

yeah i think i might have fried the poor things cuz once i read on RIU to put the cfl as close as possible , I did that however i forgot to check if it was to hot with my hand (to make matters worst i put a normal softwhite bulb , while i was looking for my 24watt cfl) .
the sprout was getting green and then after that soft white light incident it drooped down and havent seen progress yet. the power skunk is a brownish jade green color, maybe still saveable
but the pigmy gold is a slimy brown color, i think the pigmy gold isnt gonna make it :-(

i put the oscillating fan on both and cut the cups so they get air.

i put the humidity plastic because back in july i put the plastic and they sprouted good and grew to about an inch , till i left for the weekend and all my summer shipment died.

heres the next seed ima germ, this one i chose the paper method without the plastic dome, hoping this way will work better. when should i put this in my red plastic cup/pot of soil? once the seed cracks?

should i get this baby a buddy and drop a seed straight into the cup of soil or germ in rockwool or paper towell.

these rockwools seemed like a badass thing but slowly and surely are making me go to soil....
good looking on the input yo!
