1st grow

Hey folks, I've been reading as many threads as I could over the last few months. I decided to take the plunge and get into growing with bubbleponics and dwc. Right now I've got 3 plants growing in a diy bubbleponic system, sour diesel in foreground, Strawberry Cough on the left, and Royal Hash in the back. The other two are SC in a DWC. So far I've kept humidity, temperature (water and air) ph, and nutes all within acceptable ranges. The problem is, I've never even grown a fern before so I have no clue if I'm doing this right. All these are 14 days old now. They seemed to just stretch the first week, now they just seem to be getting bushier. Do these plants look to be about right for 14 days?

they look good. what are you using for lights? and do you have a fan blowing that makes them shake a little? this will help beef them up.

Yeah I've got everything under a 6500k T5, with an extra T5 light stick over the dwc's because the main light is a bit farther away. This is just a small closet grow of 8 sq ft, and so I've been very cautious of heat. I've got an 4"inline exhausting the heat, and a small fan giving them a small breeze. I'm going to keep the T5 on the 3 in the bubbleponic and keep those as mothers, and the 2 strawberry cough in the DWC I'll partition the space to a flower "room" and throw a 250 watt HPS or MH (I think anything more would be overkill in that space). A guy at my local hydro store is trying to convince me to go with T5 during flower as well, the lower electric bill sounds nice, but I think the T5's would stretch out the timeline and lower yield. I Gotta say, so far its an interesting hobby!

lookin nice and about right for 14 days under T5. A couple words of caution tho, the first two pictures show them in individual buckets which is great but the net pots look huge, I just want to make sure you dont have any light reaching the water because this will without a doubt lead to algae, phylum,etc so make sure those holes on the sides are filled with more hydroton or make a cover for it. Second, the third picture you have three ladies in the same tote container. If your going to mother these and especially if they're different strains dont grow them in the same container. Your roots will get tangled no matter how much you try to keep them separate, this will lead to other issues like competing for space, oxygen, and nutes. Which the stronger strain will win and stunt your others. Not to mention each strain takes a different amount of nutes at different times, so one plant might be flourishing with high nutes but the other strains might not be able to take the stronger solution. All in all it leads to all sorts of issues.. Make a couple of these changes and your good to go. I've heard T5's can make bud, but yes this will effect the timeline and yield compared to an HPS.
