Gonna share my 1st grow in 20+ years.
I'll start with the box build nothing special framing is 1x3 wrapped in 1 inch polyshield (2 1/2 x 4foot footprint), 7 inch table fan attached to top for ventilation, 4x4inch filtered inlet (keeps a good negative pressure seal on the door), 16 inch floor fan for agitating the indoor air, and 8 100watt soft white and 8 100watt sunlight CFL bulbs (368 actual watts I think).
more pics to come when I head back out to the box.

So I started with 2 clones from a associate of a friends friend :/ of gg#4 hope it is as that's the strain I've been googling the last few weeks lol. They didn't seem to happy in that dirt and those buckets.

So off to the local hydro store after talking with them for a bit I decided to go with fox farms stuff. So I transplanted them into 7 gallon fabric pots and happy frog soil. This was the 3rd or 4th day of week 1. A couple days later I decided to try and fim turns out I need a couple more grows before I do any of that stuff :) but the girls are fine just a couple funky leaves.

End of week 2 I'm still on a 18-6 light schedule, 30ml of big bloom twice a week, started at half dose of grow big 5ml twice a week. Been checking and watering daily. Few hours after tieing the main over the sides are coming up already. This is end of week 2 June 22nd.

And i will try to do weekly updates.

Looks like a great feel it out grow! The girls look happy. If you havent yet, grab you some cal-mag, they'll need it soon. Always mag hungry, lol. Looking forward to watching it turn out for you.

You can get more lumens to your girls if you turn those bulbs horizontal instead of hanging down. Then fashion you a reflector to go across the top to catch the light from the top of the bulbs and throw it back down. Last time I used that galvanized stovepipe piece they sell at home depot that opens up lengthwise. I posted the build on here somewhere in like 2012. But lots of stuff will work. With them turned sideways, you can really get them bulbs down close and help tighten the flowers up some later.

Thanx @iaibyrd7 I got the fox farms cal mag along with there basic 3 (i think big bloom, grow big, and tiger bloom) along with some silica stuff from them. You nailed my big concern which is lose buds I've been making cone reflectors out of foil and this high temp silicone stuff hubby had for each bulb to direct all the light down.
Each light can be moved on the frame from left to right and turned front to back so I hope to be able to put 2-3 lights on each kola as they come.
And hubby has been looking at DIY chip on board LEDs so I'm hoping to add a couple at a time since he likes to tinker around and he started to read up all about them :)

End of week 3. Watering 1/2 to 1 gallon each day, 30ml big bloom every 3rd or 4th day, upped grow big to 2/3 dose 10ml, gringo rasta calmag was started at half dose 1.25 ml, still 18-6 light.

Not a great picture but I forgot to snap one when I had the lights raised all the way up and humidity was raising so I wanted to get it closed up asap.

Looking good. I would agree with having the CFL’s vertical instead of horizontal, since they dont penetrate much and need to be close to the plants.

Hubby scored a bunch of free leds and drivers today I'm hoping the feedback on that thread is good and I'll be switching out the canopy lights to the led and then use the CFL for side lighting and/or bonus canopy light :)
Also got my first 50 watt full spectrum COB coming in the mail next week. I know the lighting is going to be a mess at first but I'm hoping to start perpetual growing and ill use the different lights in different tents if this turns out good.

I’m not sure that CFL’s will work with the LED’s. Somthing about the LEDs overtake the CFL’s. However I can say I have my current grow under multiple types of lights until I got my setup just right. My next grow will start with CFL’s then switch to my CHM.

I do the same and have far better results moving up the light intensity and changing the source as they go.

To the OP good luck with the grow they're looking great so far. Seems as though you havent missed a beat yet

Thanx @XirumBuds I got them kinda like a bowl so the tops are sideways then kinda wrap the plants towards the sides. I don't mind spending time playing around with them lol.
Thank you @JDMase for the boost of confidence. Got like 368 watts of CFL in there now, hope to add the free Led's by the time I need to switch to 12-12 (that's like another 300 watts), and I might hold off on putting the COB's in this grow. Next grow I hope to have 500+ in fullspec COB'S in 1 tent, the free and buy some of the cheap LED board things to get into the 500+watt range (sorry I don't know what the real term is) and then CFL in another box for veg but that's some time away lol. Maybe mix the COB's and cheap ones in each of the flower tents..... sorry I could keep rambling on

They look healthy as can be. Maybe look into quantum boards. They are cheap easy to hook up. And give amazing results. But cfls will work. My first 4 grows were with cfls. I had a ton of them. 36 of them lol. Clear around one single plant. It was huge almost 3 tall and 3 1/2 foot wide. I topped it 12 times. And used one CFL per top. Had them spread out. Like top CFL top CFL top CFL. In a line. With the bulbs like 5 inches away from the tops. So one side of the bulb hit one side of one top. And then the next bulb hit the other side of the top. So forth and so on. And believe it or not they great and were decently solid. I managed to pull just over 4 ounces dry. Which to me was absolutely astonishing for cfls. But then again I had 75 watt CFL bulbs. With 33 watt actual pull per bulb. So I had over 1000 watts of CFL lol. Had some heat problems. Didn't have any money. Had an old leaf blower. 120 volt plug in type. Tore it apart. Made an inline fan out of it. I had to run it on low bc it moved so much air lol. That was 12 years ago. And I still to this day use the fan I made with it. It blows twice as much air as those expensive inline fans for 100-200 bucks. It's a beast. Good luck on the grow. Looks like you have it dialed in.

Thanx @whytewidow and I told hubby about that leaf blower and he grinned lol. I grew a few times outside on a 3rd story balcony just had to train it to stay below the handrail so no one could see :) so all this lightbulb info is brand new to me

Seeing as I'm getting 2-3 inches grow both verticaly and horizontaly each 24hours I'm prolly gonna have to put it into flower before I scheduled for it about July 6th (end of 4th week) since I'll have no more horizontal area.
So we made a bubble cloner from stuff we had around and cleaned out an old hobby storage closet that's going to be the new clone box :)

So fingers crossed for my first attempt with these 8 new babies :)
It's a basic bubbler out of a storage tote a 2 bulb t8 with cut flip flops as holders did a scientific evaluation between flip flop soles and the neoprene disks at the hydro store (store gave me a lose one) and they felt about the same pressure once cut lolol.

Well outside temps hitting 95+ I'm struggling to keep temps down A/C is not an option as I only have a 20amp breaker to work with and I'm pulling more then half the safe watts already. So implementing a old school swamp cooler (frozen soda bottles filled with ice inside a foam cooler intake air running through it) RH is spiking around 65% but they are not in flower yet so I'm hoping it won't effect much. Been working to keep temps below the 90°F mark but have to change the ice every 4 hours :(

Almost end of week 4 will be switching to 12-12 Sunday. Added 270 actual watts on 12x18 aluminum. Taking about a full gallon each drink and feed still using big bloom grow big and calmag.20180706_194409.jpg 20180706_194434.jpg
