thanks for the confidence boost, as a newbie you question and second guess yourself alot as im sure everyone knows just trying to stay on top of everything, i really enjoy this whole growing weed thing as a past time lol and smoking is the best way to pass timelooks like you got it all handled to me.
can anyone tell me if this is just too much training for the poor plant? or do i have the right idea?
thanks again
scotch tape eh thanks for the tip im sure ill break a few being its my first time working with a scrog. speaking of which i have a question not 100% sure of the actually procedure do i just pull the branches back under the net until it starts to bud? or do i weave the branches in and out of the net as it grows?I do a combination of all as well. I usually top and lst before putting them under the screen. The Marijuana plant is very hardy and can take most of what you might throw at it in the way of training. scotch tape fixes a lot of broken stems etc...
yeah id say atleast 3weeks wait it out u gotta have alot of patience with this growin larkIn my opinion, chopping now would be like chopping green bananas... they are just notas good as a ripe one...
Take a peak at this thread... of even FDD's... let her finish and you will be happier...
I say at least another 3 weeks.... nice looking bud though...

hey someguy thanks for the tip, and on another note i wanna cry, i really thought you guys would say it can be smoked oh well patients is a virtue or something lol ill wait 3 more weeks.I use twisty ties and just tie the plant down to the screen. Seems to work best for me this way.
I am with Gypsy & Rasclot. 3 more weeks is what I would think.
hey gypsy thanks for the link i now understand what you guys are talkin about, and agree it needs more time to grow and get that much betterIn my opinion, chopping now would be like chopping green bananas... they are just notas good as a ripe one...

ya the room smells sometimes the grow is in the closet, which exhausts in the room, i cut up the black carbon material and stuffed it inside the exhaust vent then put a bounce sheet at the end of the vent, it does ok but i dont find the plants smell that much, only up close. as for the molasses im using botanicare sweet grape which i believe is natural sugars, is that kind of the save thing? ive already started feeding just water and sweet grape, should i still be adding nutes?. as for the flushing and proper drying and curing process i know all about it and plan on taking the right steps and taking my timeim suprised you havent stunk the house out yet. i didnt read all the posts but i read your set up. when your in flowering if i understood correctly your filter doesnt blow out of the house? i must have read it wrong. but ur set up looks good. your plants will really grow in size in the last few weeks left of flower. in soil you can mix 2 tablespoons of molasses or syrup with a 2 liter of water and water the plant with that and the sugers stimulate root production and in a day or two your buds can double in size. for hydro setups they have a liquid that does the same thing. i dont know what its called but its a synthetic sugar. it really helps. and make sure you flush 1 week to 10 days before harvest. and its important to dry it and cure it properly. its just to me drying and curing is one of the most important parts.
Thank you Woodsman for your kind and motivating words, i must say i luv this site, its givin me all the information i could want, about everything i need to know, its all so interestingWell howdy there Joe,
Made it back. Your budding plants do look well. I see there are some folks I know here, helping you out. I would bet your aware at this point, but your among a good group buddy.
Well I wanted to note on your comment about using multiple "methods" in combination for your scrog run.
I think most scientist today understand the importance of "diversity". I think the mixed martial arts world has truly keyed in on the advantages of being "well rounded" thus the birth of the UFC, WEC, and the like. And now here in the cannabis world its becoming more and more evident that diversity rules here too. I have spent the last 25 years growing multiple species of plants with trellis, lattice, netting, wire mesh, fence, etc. and I have to say: "If I had picked up on that simple concept around my second or third attempt at growing (such as you have), I would have saved my self years and years of fiddling. Good studying!
It is true, "no one method is the most superior, however a combination may be"
On another note, you had asked about training through or with the screen. I think the question was along the lines of what some would call "weaving". This question has long been asked of scrog. Most of my research indicates the idea that weaving is a slower training method unless the specific plant responds to the low stress at a faster rate than that of which you are training it. Vines do well from weaving. Cannabis does best when the scrog spreads the growth evenly, and supports the weight of that which is produced. "If anyone wishes to challenge my theory, I have a wonderfully simple experiment for you to try, thus proving it".
Pulling taller tops down and tieing them works. You can also pull them back through the mesh/screen (granted you choose a large enough hole size) and move them outward or to an area with less dense growth that works too. Keeping symmetry is probably more important in order to keep growth uniform and free of problems down the road.
Hope you enjoy your self, and meet the goals you set forth!
Good growing!
Woodsman~
