After trolling RIU for 2+ years I have decided to utilize my new homeowner status and get my hydroponics on.
I'm looking at a few items and would like your input on wether they are worth the purchase. If not, can you help me out with a suitable replacement. Links to the best deals would be greatly appreciated.

As for the ballast, I was originally set on lumatek but was told CAP is a little better. Will I be cutting myself short going with the hydrofarm convert. vs the CAP Nextgen? Pros/Cons?
Here are some of the essentials, but need direction on which model to purchase at the best price. What works for you?
