1st tent grow autoflowering ak47

Hey all

Used to do big indoor grows back in the day. This is my first tent grow ever. Here's a list of my set up:

4'8 x 4'8 HTG tent
carbon filter w/ fanfrom ebay
cool tube reflector digital ballast 1000k
2nd 6" axial fan to help cool the 1000k

Just ordered 2 packs of 10 lowlife auto ak47 from Attitude. Only took 4 business days from the UK to Canada.

Anyways, just about to germ the beans before I head off to work. Tomorrow is my day off so I'm gonna go grab all my soil and pots tomorrow and hopefully a few will be cracked by then. I'm hoping outta the 20 seeds 18 or so will survive and at least 10 will be female.

I had two kush clones in there just for fun. One was a DWC experiment that has now died:neutral:, but I plan on keeping the big nice one in the tent for another month then I'll stick her in the backyard someplace clandestine.

So it's been 24 hrs and now three of my 21 seeds have popped! (I got lucky and one of my seed packs had 11!)

I don't want to buy twenty one 2 gallon pots and sneak them into my house so I was wondering if anyone knows if it's safe to plant them into those red beer cups until they show sex then buy just 2 gallon pots for the females. I know this would be fine for any other strain, but I've never done an auto before and their lifespan is short so I'd rather not stunt growth.

Dont the carbon filter need to b on the out side of tent so u dont smell them init and u need a air in to the tent and a fan on the inside and wen u do swicth them i think u will only fit 8 in there and u should se 3 diffent size pots for ever month of the plants life they will need a bigger pot and more roots = more bud how much did the seeds cost and r they jus regs not fem ?
I got 3cheese in weeek 5 of flower 24inces tall and across started to flower a few days ago and got 2 cheese in veg for 4weeks but only 4inces so far one more week and should b 6/7inces then i will put into flower and will put them in a bigger pot for a month till start to bud then bigger pot again for the last 5 weeks and should get 3oz a plants
?

That's a great way to go. They show their sex in about 2-3 weeks so they don't really need that much root space. And don't worry, they grow incredibly slow during that time. It's quite a spectacle when they start to flower, though.

Also, with that many seeds you are likely to get one of the larger phenotypes. They have more of the AK47 genetics than the LR2 and they can grow to the size of a normal MJ plant. Just be prepared for the uneven canopy if it happens. You'll know right away because the plant will take off from the beginning. :peace:

im pretty sure you want to transplant them way before being able to tell the sex of the plant from the 16 Oz red beer cups,

they wont grow that much after the root system has filled the space of the red cup

The carbon filter can be anywhere as long as the air flows the right direction. In my tent the air passes thru the filter, thru the cool tube then outside the tent so in one circuit it cleans the smell and cools the light. I don't have a fan in the tent right now because there's only one plant.

I didn't buy feminised seeds because I didn't want to get any hermaphrodites.

ok so I have one in favour of the beer cups... and 2 against.

I might not have a choice actually I really don't want to lug in all those pots then when I do chop the males I'll have roughly 10 extra pots for no reason. I've already spent a fortune so far.

I've seen impressive results from this strain from 400w and even 250w. I hope by using a 1000w it'll work even better.

ok thats ok then and the filter should b up right i think mate and all 20seeds got got was fem from greenhouse white widow turned out really nice and back to the pot from seed start in small pot then after a month the roots should have a good root system and b ready to go in to next bigger pot for the last month of groth and for the last 5weeks wen plant is flwoing put it a bigger pot again with gravall at the bottom so root dont live in the water then

Ok so I went out and bought 21 2 gallon pots for my 21 seeds. All 21 sprouted...Last night I gave a quick squirt of super thrive into the moist paper towel and boy did that make a difference.

Anyways, nothing special but everything is planted now. I have 14 pots filled with organic potting soil mixed 2:1 with sea soil and the last 7 are with miracle grow potting soil. I separated the two so any advantage will be easily noticed.

So far only one has popped thru the surface

Ok so on day 5 now and several more sprouts have come up. I'll take a nice picture in a few days when they've all popped and are standing at attention.

Hello everyone

it's been 3 days since the seeds were planted in the soil and I think day 7 since I put them in the moist paper towels.

I didn't bother updating the last two days as nothing much was happening.

So far all 21 sprouts are up and have been fed with superthrive. It's been awhile since I've grown from seeds, but so far everything looks fine.

I only had enough battery to snap two quick photos before my cam died so my apologies for that.

The one close up is indicative of all of them which look pretty much identical at this point in time.

Hello again

just a quick update

we're on day 9 overall and day 5 roughly since they came up since they all sprouted over two days.

Some of them are a little taller, stretched looking almost. They've all been moved around religiously to provide the best light, while some in the darkest corners of the tent are shorter with the 2nd set of true leaves just forming.

I'd like to think this is due to variants in the strain as opposed to them stretching, but anything's possible. Still look nice tho overall I must say. Especially since some of them are only 4 days old. So far, so good!

Everything's coming along nicely

I'll have to get an air circulation fan in there soon....

I think I will feed these guys at about 1/5 strength + superthrive in the next few days. I know ppl will give me flak for this, but I always use fertilizers like 15-30-15 and 20-20-20. I think they work fine. Take my kush for an example to all those wondering about it.

I'm really happy with this strain so far

There's one pic of my big kush just for fun and a couple group shots

The ones in MG soil and my extra pricey organic mix with seasoil seem to be growing at the same pace so far

looking good man great job and as far as the auto flowering strains theres not a real good clone rate at all for them so if you save 1 male and 1 female and put them in a seperate room under a small flurosent or somethin and let the go you will have seeds every time and for always as long as you do 1 each time you wont have to buy seeds again you can just produce your own ill be watching

I have had terrible luck making clones which was the reason these autos were so appealing to me. I just might have to seed one girl now that I think about it.

Normally I would wait a few days to update with some new pics, but a couple plants seem to have taken off.

first pic is MG soil, the last two are both in the organic/seasoil mix

its definatly a way to save money and never have to buy seeds again thats what i do with my autoflowering i always make seeds for the next run

That's definitely a good way to go. I won't have to spend any more $.

Do you have a lot of experience with autos? I was sorta imagining growing these autos and experimenting with them to increase yield. If you have any info or tricks I'd be very interested.

I guess I can always read your grow journal meanwhile
