Hey RIU!
Long-time lurkers, first-time growers. First off we'd just like to say thanks for all the great info you guys have going on, we wouldn't be at this stage without you guys! That said we've unfortunately still got a few Q's that an answer for would be great
We've finally decided to grow some personal MJ for medicinal purposes (anxiety neurosis and sciatica) and we've picked the strains to match
because where we are, picking what strain you get is just not a thing 
Our Seeds (all auto, times all from seed)
Sweet Seeds
Cream Caramel Auto - 8 1/2 Weeks
Fast Bud #2 - 8 1/2 Weeks
+ Speed - 8 Weeks
2x Sweet Skunk - 8 Weeks
Short Stuff
Himalaya Blue Diesel - 8 to 10 Weeks
Auto Assassin - 8 to 9 Weeks
Paradise
Vertigo - 60 Days
If anyone has any first-hand knowledge of whether our predictions for the time these seeds take is right, or of any special advice for any of the strains feel-free to let us know! (for example there's mumblings that Vertigo takes a lot longer than stated)

The Room - 1m x 1.25m x 2.25m (Tall)
Our Kit (so far)
1x 600w HPS Dual Spectrum Light (for the entire process)
1x Oscillating fan for moving air within the room.
(1x Computer Fan for intake/outtake) - This hasn't been bought yet, we're looking for info on the best ventilation (intake or out take, we're thinking intake fresh air and what not, unfortunately unless it's entirely necessary we can only afford to go for one or the other.)
1x Thermometer/Hygrometer.
Litetite Mylar for the walls.
Litmus / Ph Testing Kit (also in the works)
Dolomite Lime / Crushed Limestone
8x Plant Pots (size not yet decided)
Our Medium
Soil - We're in the UK so from looking around the place the name that crops up the most is John Innes (JI) (we were going to go with a local shop we know for soil, but we're trying our best not to risk anything)
Our findings from research were that No.2 has too much (?) in it for seedlings, but is good for veg and flower so we were going to germinate and start our Babas off in standard John Innes (No.1 i think) in small peat cups, and then plant those into a larger pot with JI#2 so that by the time they break through the pots they will be ready for the better stuff! (this seems logical but if anyone knows that it won't work for any reason again, please let us know!) both soils are going to be mixed with perlite for drainage.
NutesThis is somewhat where the confusion sets in, we're thinking of going with CypherCrash's (Kudos
) guide of 10-7-8 for Veg and 4-8-8 for Flowering. We were wondering is it possible to mix two of the same brand nutes to manufacture the ratios e.g. Lawn Feed mixed with another high potassium nute?
Cheers for getting this far haha, these are our questions i guess... (sorry if they've been answered elsewhere but we've looked for definitive answers on subjects and these Q's are the one's we're still uncertain about)
- With auto-flowers is it better to go for plant pot size or space between plants?
- Are there any tips for using one light for the entire grow? and Is a 600w at roughly 2m to strong for seedlings? (heard mixed views on the subject)
- Is an Intake or Outtake fan necessary? And if so, which would be the best? (w/regards to plant health + yield)
- If you don't want to fertilize til the soils own nutrients run out (to prevent over-feeding) and we're using 2 sets of soil all with their own added nutrients; would that mean that we'd have to add the time the seed takes to out grow the peat cup + 3 weeks? (Depending on the nutrient amounts) and if this duration takes it into flowering is it worth using veg nutes at all?
