If growing has become a significant part of your happiness and you plan on never stopping I would go with a 600 and a dimmable ballast, you can turn it down to 400ish and you won't need to upgrade later, plus they are roughly the same cost at purchase timei got a 2.5x2.5x6 grow tent, exhaust 215 cfm, inline 109 cfm and a cooltube reflector. I am trying to make SOG with 4 plants and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade to a 400w hps for flowering. What do you think?
When it comes to plant training I've learned there is a little secret to getting those easily trainable, pliable stems, ask @Gary Goodson how he gets those trunks he trains, gotta love that SI!i vegged 3 SLH(1 plant vegged for 1 month and the others for 2 weeks) and 1 special kush (2 weeks veg) under a 250w MH. I was planning to mainline the SLH that vegged for 1 month but unfortunately i destroyed 1 of the 2 main stems,as a result i started to SOG .
The bulbs are hella durable. I have 2 of em hah.cmh`s are pretty nice induction lamps are pretty nice too less heat and hassle than hids but they can take up them same kinda space or double of a hid but they last ages, really do like using them just get so scared of breaking glass lamps

They are pricey, they make "virtually no heat," and they give off an awesome spectrum. They also use very little electricity compaired to conventional lights for their overall light output
Well I mean £60 to £200 is not that much for a 100w to 400w tube they do last well over 5 years
The 5000k inductions give you such a nice frost if you flower with them but you get way more hair with 3000k
I specifically I suppose was talking about this fixture:

I actually got both of my for $303 each.
An induction light would be sick, i've seen a lot of good induction setups
