2 monster plant grow questions

My buddy has 2 plants going in a 30 gallon bucket that we have been working on used ocean forest soil have vegged them for about 8 weeks under a 400 watt t5 now have added a 1000watt my(hps bulb for flowering) have t5 hanging horizontal now providing side lighting we have been rotating plants often no co2 will adjust humidity have been LST them and just fimmed both they are about 4 foot tall the bigger one has 4 foot long branches thinking of switching to 12/12 but not sure have vegged long enough to get our 12 oz goal and if we should gradually change over the lights wondering what some more experienced growers thought I know there are a lot of variables thanks in advance will add pictures

Well I would get them in a room that has some reflective material on the walls your wasting a bunch of light as the are for those to really grow better more light. CO2 would be a great addition if possible and clothe pots next time I have some 50 gal that do awesome for when I decide to do outdoor plants.
