I recently saw some cats ask about doing two plants in one pot...if that would be OK or not. Well here is my experience. I'll add my thoughts and you can draw your own conclusions.
We will compare between a topped plant for 4 colas vs. two plants in one pot un-topped vs. 1 plant in one pot un-topped. Only difference is that the topped plant got 4 weeks veg vs 3 weeks on the other two plants (2 in one pot, 1 in one pot). A difference of 7 days.
Note: I am sorry (not really) about the camera quality. This is a 25 dollar Walmart special...it says 14 megapixels on the package...LOL yeah right. Cheap plastic case and all.
Some information:
Amended my own soil (spouted seeds in this. Thanks to Uncle Ben's advice and instructions. I am a student of his).
-MG potting mix
-blood meal
-bone meal
-lime
-alfalfa meal
-vermiculite
-perlite
-extra peat moss
-3 gallon pots (treated with two coats of copper hydroxide paint called Microkote)
Feed:
MG tomato food 18-18-21 for flower. Amazing stuff. Really cheap. *(See final thoughts below)*
MG general purpose in veg (24-8-16)
General information:
They are drinking one gallon of water a day...each gallon mixed with a tablespoon of MG food.
These plants veg'd under 1000watt HPS, and moved out in sun everyday for 9 hours. 9 under HPS, 9 out in sun. Brought back inside for 6 hours darkness.
Flowering outside under sun 11/13, and moving back indoors for darkness. Not too bad. A lot of work but hey...why not.
Pot is also painted with Microkote copper hydroxide root pruning paint. Stuff is amazing. You are operating with a bigger engine vs not treated pots.

2 plants in one pot: Tallest one is 42 inches...the other 36 inches tall (3 weeks veg)
Here is an un-topped plant in one 3gallon pot with (3 weeks veg)
Notice it's has a bushier profile than the 2 in 1 above.
1 plant in one pot, topped for 4 main colas: it's 38" tall x 42" wide (4 weeks veg)
It's wider than it is tall, thought that was interesting.
Thoughts:
I accidentally put two seeds in one pot, that is why and I figured to let it grow out. These plants are nice, though not as bushy as the 1 plant un-topped in one 3 gallon pot. The colas are nice and display nice branching despite the root masses competing. They drink the same amount of water as the rest. The 4 cola plant is a beast, easily yielding more than the 2 in one pot and the other un-topped one in one pot. Time will tell.
I just think of the 2 in one plant as a topped plant for two main colas plus some more. So if you have extra seeds and no more pots, double up.
So, go for it, try it out.
The sun is intense and at week five today, these will only get more dense and plump. Notice the green healthy folige ? Keep em green until the end. Also, you can't see the buds glisten with this cheap camera, but in the morning when the sun hits them the right way they look simply beautiful...dripping and wet with resinous buds.
Final thought:
I use MG products and the proof is in the pudding. They work fine and is not too hot. My whole garden is going through 18 gallons, 18 tablespoons of food a day. I could not imagine paying 500 dollars + to get through a grow with the brainwashed cannabis industry indoctrination.
Even with all my admendments seeds do pop right out and they feed heavy. Why can't the proof be in the pudding ? I'm not saying my plants are the best, but they are on par. I liken MG haters that are duped into using Advanced $$ Nutrient to cats who believe 911 was not an inside job and that Sandy Hook, the Dark Knight Killings and the Boston bombing were all done by "terrorists", believing the official story. In other words, sheeple. While MG users and common sense people know that the world is messed up and not all is as it seems, and it reflects in common sense botany and choices to use products not marketed to high school stoners. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE PEOPLE. (Just joking people. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who were murdered by evil people in high places).
