200 amp grow room design

Hello RIU,

I am looking for all of your opinions on how you would setup and cycle a grow room based off 200 amps. The layout is unknown as of now, so I'm open to suggestions.

I'll be growing in a competitive market, Canada. So, I've decided to grow soil because I'm already experienced with soil. I might change mediums, but doubtful.

I'm open to either LEDs or HPS. I'll most likely need to add H(VAC).

Do any commercial growers have any recommendations for any products based off past successes and failures?

How do autoflowers compare to photoperiods commercially?

How many square feet do you have to work with? How high are the ceilings? Any sort of plant count in play? Amps could be used on a flip and double the flowering area and stuff like that.

It's pretty simple. You get a bunch of good seeds. Grow them out and take clones off each one, keeping very careful track of who is who. This way when you flower them you can discard the corresponding clones for any plants that are undesirable like males, hermies, shitty producers. Once you have good mothers you can then run a whole room of nothing but good plants that grow consistently and don't bust pollen.

I would go with Coco or Promix HP. Faster growth rates, more forgiving etc.

I personally don’t see a point in going with soil unless going full organic and that’s a pretty big undertaking for a 200A grow and can be costly.

As for lights that’s personal preference. LED’s are going to have a high upfront cost, CMH’s are going to as well since you will need a ton of them.

Judging by your questions I think lots of research would be a wise idea. A 200A grow is not easy or cheap and requires lots of planning.

You want a mother/clone/veg room and at least two flower rooms on a flipped light schedule and staggered harvests.

I would either start pheno hunting some seeds or source some quality clones to mother out and so you can take tons of clones. That should be your first priority.

200amps can get you a lot of lights. Get proper HVAC it'll run you 10k+ depend where you are in Canada. Run CO2 it's a must. You can also get 400amps if needed. I would run 3 rooms, if you space run 4. 1 veg 2 flower rooms on a flip or 2 and 2.

Autoflowers seem to have even more pheno variation than photos in every pack ... so you'll have terrible time managing the canopy and flower quality. Beyond that, you'll be buying every plant which will add significant unnecessary costs to your project.
So unless you plan to learn about tissue culture, take the sage advice of others here and stick with photos, mothers, and clones.

There's place in my city that tried to do autos commercially. They ran it 4 times. 3 out of the 4 times they either crews some balls and infected he whole crop or they hermied. The one time it didn't it wasn't good.

I would never. I have done a few times at home and there is no way I would consider them for work. No consistency for the commercial market.

who is your intended client? It’s pretty rough in Canada right now. Unless you are in a few key areas product prices are plummeting.
