24/0 veg question

As of now I've been vegging my plants for 24 hours and I've used both this method and 18/6. I've always got shorter stockier plants with 24 hours on. The thing is i would like to get some clones off these girls before i throw them into flowering in about a week or two. I've not topped or done any type of training/ pruning so far. The only problem im seeing with 24 hour veg is that the nodes are so close together its hard to get a clone. They are about 6 inches tall and have about 5 to 6 nodes. If you were me would you flip to 18/6 for a week or two to get more "stretch" for cuttings? Or would you resume 24 hour veg period and after 2 weeks of the 12/12 flip take clones? I would rather go the 18/6 route but im not sure if im risking hermies or not. Thanks guys help would be much appreciated!

need to know what light you have the plants under
how much room you have and how many plants you have and how many clones would like to take

I have them under 6 fluorescent t8s about a half inch from top of plants. The number of plants and room isn't an issue in this question.

If you have 5 to 6 nodes on each plant you could take 1-2 cutting from each plant and pull the sides down, give then a week and flower if you have room

Were you planning on topping? I would top, let them grow back out....Flip let go two weeks then trim out bottom and use those as clones.

Yeah I plan on topping mainly to get bushier plants to obtain clones. They're very lush and thick and the node spacing is right on top of one another. I went ahead and cut the tops out of them about an hour ago, but im concerned that i topped too short now. Is this possible? Theres 6 nodes on each plant. Im also going to raise the lights a little and hopefully that will give me a little more stretch. I topped them a little differently. I opened up the budding vegetation at the top of plant and just cut off the unformed bud at the very top. Im assuming that's the same thing as cutting down below it. I really hope i didn't screw this up.

By the way my lights are basically touching the tops of plants as of now with no harm. The fluros don't get hot enough to burn them. Will i see a good stretch if i raise the lights a bit?

I raised the lights to about 4 or 5 inches above the plants. Can anyone help me with my previous questions and concerns please? Close to figuring thongs out and getting everything in "tune". Thank you.

pictures help with this kinda thing. you make it hard to paint a mental picture. have you taken cuttings or not? clipping the 'bud' will probably result in a fim 'fuck, i missed' (search it). if you raise the lights six inches, they will stretch out. anything else?

If you have distance from your light to plants this will definitely promote stretching.

I have T5's and leave about a foot away, 10 inches any ways...

i dont think that you get better plants doing the 24 hour light thing i have tested this and the growth rate is pretty much the same has 18/6
