24 hour dark period before flower?

sorry i posted this in advanced techniques but i think given the traffic conditions of readers this is a little better for the time i got.

i have my plants vegged 6 weeks. They are coming up on 12 hours dark. I bout to switch the light to red and flower.

I have read i think that a 24 or 48 period of darkness might be beneficial to flower starting. Is this true?

Should i wait for the next day or go now. I dont mind now, its been this long.

Just put them in 12/12 don't worry about 24h of dark now, but before your harvest you can put them in 48 hours of dark to raise THC levels.

no? Well you talked me into it, lol. I cant wait to see them. 8 nl and 2 mazar afghan and 1 bag seed vegged for 5-6 weeks.

Only a 400 hps with a ref hps bulb for now. But next week i going into a better bulb at least or hopefully a 600 if craigs list is hitting me right.

Any other ideas? Or was that 24 hours just me bragging i am finally developing some patience? hehe

Mazar afgani is a dank robust plant. She can take so much abuse and will grow like a champ. I miss my baby. Oh I just throw my babies into 12/12 w/o the 24hr darkness period.

I flip my babies and give them 36 hours of dark.... normally I have initial signs of bud growth 5 days in and by 10 days in there is no question what is happening....

Don't think it's going to help someone on a thread from a year ago.
