has anyone used a 25000K cfl alone. I have been told that it will slow or stop growth, but still allow roots to grow.
Things that make you go hummmm

yeah I think I can find one, but they just look like a 125w or 200w full spec cfl. they just make your plant look black of purple.
I am not sure how to post pics but will try.

well its something to debate..or go out and buy one and try it. i have heard anything over 6500k start going into like bad teritory or something because of the bad harmful rays. keep posted

I havent heard of anything harmfull myself, have had a couple tell me that they are great for kepping your clones healthy but at the same time keeping them small. Also had one guy tell me he uses the 25000k when he is not ready to switch over flower to keep his plants short. I am a stickler for details though so was hoping for some more info. As for the fancy light. You have to watch what you buy, some regular stores sell cfls but they do not have a full spectrum, where these do. Makes a huge diff.

Harmful rays?
25,000k is not reaching the uvb or ir ranges at all.
Safe as Safe can be.

Checkout my "Ask Kelvin" post.
It includes an output spectrum chart of the 25000k

If I could start over again with my money.
I would already have atleast one 200w 25000k.

Snaggy, have you used the 25000k alone, with out any other light, and if so what results did you get or find. I have heard it will delay growth.

Snaggy,
Have you used or heard of anyone using the 25000k alone. have heard it will stunt growth. If so I see it helping on keeping clones short and healthy and helping when my flower room isnt done but want to keep veg flowers short.

so your saying it puts out some sort a color that the plant absorbs and uses to grow the roots so they are a good base and resistant? so what is it about the light, the higher then kelvin the more of the spectrum it has? if i compared it to a litttle 5500 k cfl i would have a bigger plant but lanky and the 25000k would be smaller and bulkier?

MAn i dont know for sure. But what I hear is that it stunts growth while under the light. I have talked to a couple of guys across orth america. They say it helps keep clones small. and the other says it helps keeps his plants in flower short while waiting for flower room to clear out. If this is true then it would be a great help for me. I do not know if you could get results using full term.

I haven't used a 25000k myself yet.
I am a noob who has spare time and no money.
And I wanted to research abit before I spent money on useless hardware for flowering.

I not seen results with my own eyes either.
But yes.
I would assume plants grown with 100% 25000k would be short stalky things.
This is what I want for indoors.
Who care how big and lanky your plant is?
That just means the nodes are stretched.
(and when you start flower it will stretch anyways)

I would not veg a plant under 100% 25000k.
Like mention, probably a little to short for those of us who are happy to watch them grow.
But a healthy 1/2 & 1/2 of 25000k & 11,000k 0r 25000k & 6400k should be awesome.

I would definitely not flower 100% with 25000k.
But again, 1/2 25000k and 1/2 2100k (and if you are rich, 100% 2100k for the last 2 weeks) looks like the best hypothesis to me.
I think (don't know anything) that this would make CFL's produce some HPS looking buds.

Look at the Nlite kelvin graphs in the "ask kelvin" thread.
But again.
I am a noob.
What do I know.
I was just trying to find some facts so I could get the best chlorophyll absorption and the most for my money.
:)

I've got one, its purple light. Apparently makes them grow more stocky, but it should work. best to use one in conjunction with a 2700k so I've heard.
