Hi all,

Its been a few years since my last grow and previously was doing small closet grows

70cm x 80cm x 180cm high, 1 to 3 plants and yielding around 120g to 150g dry, very high quality bud regardless of it was 1 or 3 plants, I'd always get roughly the same amount dried and was using a 250w cool shade/maxi bright ballast. Did about 8 grows.

I used Biobizz all mix soil, biobizz grow and bloom and a bit of bat guano and tarrantula microbial. Strains such as Barneys Blue Cheese, Chem Dawg, Reserva Privada OG kush, Amnesia Lemon haze.

I now have a new attic cupboard space. Its around 180cm x 180cm square with ceiling going on a slant from 60cm to 120cm

My question is will my 250w coolshade/maxibright be ok for 2 to 4 plants (pots 25ltr 40cm high) or would I benefit greatly from a dimable 600w such as Gavitas or Dimlux. Bear in Mind ill have to keep the plants very low, probably scrog/supercropped. It will be hard to keep them less than 20 cm from the lights.

Heat is not an issue as I have extractor fans and a good outlet which goes straight outdoors, only thing Im wondering is if a 250w will be sufficient or if 600w dimable will be considerably beneficial and maybe could be too strong and cause light burn?

Another thing Im super concerned about is fire safety, I hear the gavitas and dimlux are very reliable and efficient and run cool .

New grow will be Milky Cookie clones in 25ltr soil pots using plant magic soil, Fish Mix for veg, Old Timers Bloom / Buddas tree pk 9-18 boost.

I grow purely for my own personal use and just grow enough for personal consumption either smoking or in food.

Any input is hugely appreciated, its great to be back in the game and not having to purchase from street urchins!!

Lights - always go as big as you can afford or control the heat from. Always. Bud size, density are directly related to light. Lights and air movement - go big or stay on the porch.

A 600 is probably going to be putting out around 4x the visible amount of light that your 250 puts out (lumen wise). so as long as you can control the heat from a 600 (they get pretty hot) then you should deffinitely go 600 for better yields.
