This is sort of a continuation of my current grow, but I am going to post every little thing I do with my plants, 1 of these plants I am growing for a friend, he wants me to journal everything I do, mainly to his plant, but will treat all babies in this new grow as I treat his.
Tonight/this am they are in between 3 layers of wet coffee filters (instead of paper towels which may snag the delicate shoots off the root, don't ask me why, seemed like a good idea after reading paper towels can tear tiny roots upon removing, this was my idea, and so far I have gotten all but 4 to crack this way in under 12-14 hrs) in a plastic bag under a darkened measuring cup in the dome w/ heat on bottom set to around 80 degrees.
of the 8 white widow seeds 7 have popped and have either a tail or longer root..I am going to put them into soil tomorrow after letting it get a head start in the warmth.
This is an experiment of sorts...so photos and details will be posted on a regular basis.
Here is what I have going on: Equipment
aprox 8x7 room, with a 2.9x7 ft section partitioned off with panda film..
Intake air: I have a 4x6 window I leave cracked at about 7-8 inches 24/7, days it is open flap, night I close the flap so light doesn't leak outside. I have 2 fans, one wall mounted fan in the corner facing the canopy top/window this blows the stale air out. 1 more tower fan at same level as my 1000 watt light, have both a MH conversion bulb but the growth was inadequate(possibly a bulb issue),
I have a 1000 watt hps on the bigger plants and a 4' 8 bulb HO T-5(with alternating red/blue bulbs) on clones, 1 week olds and new seedlings. The seedlings/clones are in the light footprint of the HPS also. The HO T-5 is about 12" above them
Hood is a hydrofarm illuminaire xtrasun (generic cheap one) but has nice reflectives inside.
Bulbs are ultrasun HO MH conversion lamp 6500 k.
HPS is also an ultrasun, but HPS.
Ballast is 1,000 watt HPS magnetic (guessing b/c it was very cheap?) also by xtrasun
co2- I have 2 "exhale" co2 bags about 1 foot above canopy, these are good for 6 months.
Ok, think that is about it.
I will begin this part of my journey tomorrow when all the new seeds hit the soil.
Photos will follow tomorrows posting.
Thanks and I invite anyone to leave any hints, tips,or constructive criticisms (not rude)
