2nd Day In Flower.....Is It Done???

Kidding.

Question is about intake fans and carbon filters. I am lucky enough to have amazing flatmates that are accepting of the increased energy costs and other such associated up charges, but they have stated they don't want to deal with the smell.

I am in Day #2 of flower and can already start smelling the resin production on my plants and know this is going to be a skunky batch. What filters are you all using to kill smell, air circulation, and how does it effect temp? Any top brands, found a bunch but sometimes the most expensive isn't always the best purchase. Thanks.

I got my carbon filter and fan on eBay and have never been disappointed. I get my replacement filters there too. They're pretty damn cheap.

It helps with the temps for me because I have a tent and it exhausts from the top and out, so it sucks out the heat and draws in the cold air. In the pic you can see the filter up top.

and zero smell! They last for about 10 months for me before needing replacing.

filter will remove 99,9% of the smell and last you roughly a year, make sure the CFM match the ventilation so the filter can handle the air flow (or more)

Good one. It is not about the best brands...there is no such thing....there is only hype.

Does that diagram have an in-line fan or an axial fan? It is axial. Don't get an inline. That is junk.

I have 3 ft x 18" carbon canister and a 6" axial fan, as seen above. Forget that 3x the vol. per hour, air exchange business. You get big air exhausted, to get cool air pulled it.

I second the cheapo filters on eBay, worth 3-4 grows.

HTGsupply offers free shipping on eBay. 60-65 bucks gets a virgin charcoal carbon filter made for a 6 inch fan up to 440cfm. Smell is gone.

I see filters for 200-300 fucking dollars, and unless they last for 2-3 years it isn't worth it, which they don't.
