Back again with another grow. This time, I have just put the baby girls into flower.
For those of you who don't know what i am on about, check out my other posts to see my first ever grow, using a basic dwc hydro setup. We took cuttings before flowering the mothers, and this is what they looked like for a little while:
However, some 10 weeks later, they have just been put straight into flower tonight, with a little change in ingredients.
I am now using Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom: 1ml to every 10 ltr of part A followed by part B, then, different to my first grow where i would have now used here 10gm Advanced Nutrients Bud Blood to every 10 ltr, i have been advised to use a product, not only better but cheaper and more cost effective, to be used after adding Sensi Bloom A and B to the water.
Where Budblood was £15 for 40gm from my supplier, he has recommended Plantlife Products Bud Start. It is the same price, however, i only use 1gm per 10 ltr. I will leave feedback on the difference to Bud Blood. Just like Bud Blood, Bud Start is only given once, when using with Big Bud.
So, i suppose I ought to inform you of the upgrade i have made since grow 1.
Grow 1 i used 4 x 20 ltr square swing bins as dwc's. I had a mdf board with square holes i cut into it, with plant pot sat in the holes, full of clay pebbles, surrounding the rockwool cube, containing the plant.
Grow 2 i am using 3" pots, surrounded by clay pebbles in a lid that holds the plant over the bin (the ones sold as part of the IWS systems).
They have an airstone each and the airpump is suspended above the waterline.
Each lid has a removable bung that allows you to see inside, to be able to check the roots, the airflow and the cleanliness of the water.
Outside the pots are a tube attached to a fixed grommit going inside to show a water level indication. (£12.50 each with lids and said fittings)
Hopefully you can see what i mean from the photo below:
As you can also see two smaller plants in the middle, i had two plants left over so i potted them in soil and i am abusing them, using the same food as the hydro plants to see the outcome and the end product! Or as i might say, a funky little bit of percy!
Intentions:
Top up feed when required, week 2 feed 20ml per 10 ltr Sensi Bloom A and B, followed by 20ml per 10 ltr of Advanced Nutrients Big Bud.
This is added weeks 2 through 4 only, then followed by just Sensi Bloom A and B for two weeks, followed by a flush until harvest
